Academic and Intellectual

The school follows the National Curriculum for England, adapted to reflect its international context in Dubai. It emphasizes cross-curricular learning that links science, art, history, and literacy to foster creativity, critical thinking, and real-world relevance. High standards are pursued in English, Mathematics, and Science, supported by a carefully chosen range of texts that build vocabulary and reading skills. The curriculum places emphasis on character development, wellbeing, and citizenship as core elements of academic life.

Arts and Creative

Specialist subjects include Arabic and Islamic Studies (compulsory per KHDA guidelines), Spanish (KS2), and PE and Swimming, as well as Music, Art, and Drama. Computing and SPARK (STEAM) are part of the program, bringing together science, technology, design, and engineering to encourage innovation and problem solving. The music program explores rhythm and instruments, the art program develops creativity, and drama supports performance and communication.

Cultural and Language

Rooted in local culture and connected to the wider world, the curriculum uses Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Moral Education to help students understand UAE heritage, values, and traditions. UAE National Day, Flag Day, and Mother's Day are celebrated as cultural moments, while International Day and global citizenship projects highlight cultures and perspectives from around the world. Pupils are encouraged to see themselves as responsible, respectful citizens who can make a positive impact locally and globally.

Social and Hobbies

Trips, theme days, and enrichment weeks are core to the program, providing context, excitement, and depth to learning. Experiences include visits to Expo City, hands-on science shows, author workshops, and a mangrove planting trip. Regular highlights include Author Visits, World Book Day, International Day, UAE National Day, CSI Week, Art Exhibitions, Residential Trips (Y3–Y6), and Sports Competitions & Swimming Galas.

Community and Service

Citizenship emphasizes local heritage and global citizenship; Arabic, Islamic Studies, and Moral Education help understand UAE heritage, values and traditions. The school celebrates UAE national and cultural events and runs internationalism through International Day and global citizenship projects. Pupils are encouraged to be responsible and globally minded citizens who can make a positive impact locally and globally.

Leadership and Professional

Curriculum Vision emphasizes character development and leadership skills and the ability to work in teams. The school places a strong emphasis on leadership as part of an all-round education. The VHPS Ambassadors program provides opportunities for student leadership.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Wellbeing is a core part of daily life; weekly Wellbeing sessions include Mindful Monday for Years 1–2 and Wellbeing Wednesday for Years 3–6. The pastoral team provides ongoing emotional support, including 1:1 wellbeing sessions, friendship groups, and outside referral pathways.
