Wales International School is privately owned and located in Al Shamkha, Abu Dhabi. It opened in August 2016 to provide a high-quality British curriculum for local children and now serves pupils aged 3 to 18 (girls and boys). It adheres closely to the National Curriculum of England, with IGCSE and A‑level examinations as eventual milestones. All lessons are taught in English, with Arabic, Islamic Studies and UAE Social Studies making up about 20% of lesson time under Ministry of Education guidelines.
