Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

At Boca Prep, every student is seen, heard, and supported. The school provides personalised attention to nurture each student's strengths, passions, and growth. As an IB World School, it prepares students to think critically, act globally, and lead with purpose. Whole-Child Development is emphasized, with a balanced focus on academics, arts, and athletics. The community promotes Respect & Self-Worth and mutual respect among all members, and strong school–home partnerships support students' social-emotional growth through ongoing collaboration between families and faculty. Dedicated and evolving faculty support continuous growth to meet the social-emotional needs of students.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The International Student Program at Boca Prep International School was implemented in September 2002 to fulfill the need for SEK students worldwide to learn and improve their English. Each afternoon, additional support is provided to ISP students working in their second or third language by trained staff. The program exists to help international students strengthen their English language competency within the IB framework.

Mental Wellbeing

Whole-Child Development is a guiding principle, with a focus on personal as well as academic growth. Boca Prep emphasizes that every student is seen, heard, and supported, contributing to a caring environment that supports wellbeing. The school promotes Respect & Self-Worth and mutual respect across the community, reinforcing positive self-esteem. A dedicated and evolving faculty supports student wellbeing through ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Safeguarding

The privacy policy states the school shall make reasonable effort to protect the student from conditions harmful to learning and/or to the student's mental and/or physical health and/or safety. Policies and procedures for reporting misconduct by instructional personnel or school administrators are posted in the Employee Handbook and on the school's website. The policy also provides immunity from civil or criminal liability for reporting in good faith any instance of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect.
