The school launched the IB Diploma Program and became an Apple Distinguished School between 2010 and 2016. NBPS has an active school community with more than 50 nationalities and a curriculum that includes world-class collaborations and distinctive programs. The NBPS community is united through events and programs that engage all three divisions (lower, middle, and high school) and enrich students' educational experiences. The NBPS Parent Association sponsors activities that bring families together and illuminate the school community.
The NB-PA is an inclusive organization serving as a voice and resource for NBPS families while promoting communication between parents and the school and unifying volunteer efforts. Families from all three divisions participate in NB-PA activities that unite the divisions and enhance students' educational experiences. The NB-PA is led by an executive board elected by the NBPS community, with monthly meetings and general meetings offered three times a year. The NB-PA hosts events such as a Tailgate-Burger Bash and Homecoming Food Truck Frenzy at the start of the school year, Cookies and Cocoa during the holidays, and a Staff and Teacher Appreciation Week. The NB-PA partners with UNICEF to host an annual community service event.
