Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

History

Notre Dame Academy was established in 1990 through the consolidation of St. Joseph Academy (1898-1990), Abbot Pennings High School (1959-1990), and Our Lady of Premontre High School (1955-1990). Central Catholic (1941-1955) is part of the region's earlier Catholic education heritage that led to the merger. The NDA crest represents the rich heritage of the school, with the Cross of Jesus Christ at the center; Rays of Light; a Crescent Moon representing Mary; a Flowering Lily for St. Joseph; a Fleur-de-Lis signaling the French founding by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and the Norbertines; and Waves representing Green Bay and linking the alumni communities.

Admissions

Freshman admissions: The 2026-27 freshman application opens on Thursday, November 6 for new students, and the deadline to submit is Friday, December 5, 2025. Current NDA students do not re-enroll each year. The online application is completed by creating an Infosnap account and submitting forms including Applicant, Family, School Information, Applicant Release of Records, Home Language Survey, Exceptional Needs, Bus Information, and Emergency Information. The non-refundable application fee is $75, and fee waivers are available by contacting admissions.

Freshman admissions review and decision: The application is reviewed for admission by the Admissions Committee using multiple data sources, including academic report cards from 7th and 8th grade, attendance, behavior records, standardized test results, and confidential middle school placements. The process may include an interview with the principal; the Admissions Committee makes the final decision regarding admission. Admissions outcomes fall into the categories: Admitted; Admitted with requirements; Not admitted.

Transfer admissions: NDA welcomes transfer students at the start of each academic year, with January enrollment at the principal's discretion. Sophomore applicants must have a minimum GPA of 1.8 in academic classes; junior applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in academic classes. All applicants must have good attendance and disciplinary records, with exceptions possible at the principal's discretion; no transfers are admitted during the senior year.
