The school teaches Chinese, French, Japanese, and Spanish. Chinese classes include Chinese 1, Chinese 2, IB Chinese Year 1, and IB Chinese Year 2. Travel Study is a primary curriculum feature. It enables Snowden students to travel abroad for immersive learning and gain firsthand experiences with people of other cultures; language study and intercultural understanding are emphasized. Since the school's inception, students have participated in travel study and exchanges, visiting Holland, Canada, France, Germany, China, Japan, Spain, England, Taiwan, Jamaica, Mongolia, Russia, Costa Rica, Mexico, Italy, Rwanda, Morocco, and Belize. Some programs involve hosting visiting students; families commit to hosting.
Snowden International School at Copley is a public high school in the Boston Public Schools district serving ages 14 to 18. The school delivers the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme alongside a college-preparatory curriculum with a dedicated international studies and world language focus. Instruction is in English, and students study four years of world language alongside the history, science and mathematics curricula. The program emphasizes inquiry, intercultural understanding and service, with Travel Study experiences and on-going tutoring from the Calderwood Writing Center and college tutors. The campus operates across three buildings in an open-campus arrangement. Snowden aims to foster global awareness and responsibility, preparing students to succeed in a diverse American society.
