Concordia International School Hanoi began in 2011, initially enrolling about 50 students in a rented office space in CMC Tower, Hanoi. The school is part of the network of schools under the Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS), which has operated international schools across Asia and the US for decades. In 2016, Concordia moved into its permanent campus in the Van Tri Golf Estate, expanding capacity to over 300 students at that time. Since then, it has grown to serve Preschool through Grade 12.
The Concordia community includes students, families, and staff from 45+ nationalities, reflecting a multicultural environment. Regular community events and cultural gatherings are part of school life, such as the annual Elementary School Fall Carnival tied to the Mid-Autumn Festival. The school also shares stories of alumni success, community service projects, and extracurricular achievements as part of its community updates, reflecting ongoing engagement among past and present families.
Concordia has a “Parent Support Organization (PSO)” that helps foster school spirit and supports various initiatives for students and faculty. Among the events organised are such as but nnot limited to community-wide events like the annual Fall BBQ, which brings together families for food, games, and social interaction. There are also family-oriented open-campus events such as “Lower Elementary Fun Day,” where prospective or new families can meet teachers, explore the campus, and get a feel of school life.
Concordia International School Hanoi is a non-profit international day school located inside the Van Tri Golf Estate in Đông Anh, Hanoi, offering an American curriculum from Preschool (age 4) through Grade 12. Instruction is in English, and the school offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses for high-school students. The campus includes modern science laboratories and technology-equipped classrooms, alongside facilities for athletics, arts and performing arts. Students engage in a wide variety of extracurriculars, from sports teams competing in regional tournaments to music, drama, and clubs such as Science Club, Math Club and Model United Nations. Concordia is also Vietnam’s only “green-certified” international school, reflecting its commitment to environmental awareness. With small class sizes, a student-teacher ratio of about 8:1, and a culturally international community of over 45 nationalities represented, Concordia offers families a learning environment that supports both academic and personal growth.
