Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
The school was founded in 2009 and opened as an international day-school for students aged 2 to 18. Over time, it developed into a unified campus in the Thảo Điền area of Ho Chi Minh City, built on a “garden-village” campus concept, bringing together multiple low-rise villas and shared facilities. In November 2020, EIS officially joined the global education group Inspired Education Group, becoming part of its network of international schools. Since then, the ownership structure has remained under Inspired, allowing access to broader international resources, while maintaining its independent campus identity and local community.
EIS hosts regular community and cultural events including “Open Day & Family Fun Day” where students, families and staff engage in hands-on activities and games. The school community brings together families from more than 40 nationalities, fostering an international and inclusive campus environment. New joiners are supported by a home-school buddy system and parents are welcomed from their first weeks to participate in the school’s educational village community. These efforts help to promote interaction between students, staff and parents across age groups and cultural backgrounds.
At EIS the parent body is represented through Parent Classroom Representatives and a Parent Council, which organise meetings with homeroom teachers and support staff to address family and student queries. The Parent Council actively supports parent involvement in community events such as Family Fun Days and the annual Creative Arts Week performances. Through the SchoolsBuddy and Toddle platforms parents can sign up to after-school activities, book parent-teacher conferences, and receive event invitations. While EIS highlights strong parental involvement and structured channels for parent feedback, it does not publicly publish a full list of PTA committees, meeting minutes or long-term project portfolios.
European International School (EIS) in Ho Chi Minh City offers the full IB continuum—PYP, MYP, and DP—for students aged 2–18 on a single, garden-style campus in Thao Dien. Instruction is in English, with additional languages including German, French, Spanish, Vietnamese, and Korean, and English support is available for non-native speakers. Families can use a professional school bus service serving nearby districts and the city centre. EIS currently enrolls 569 students and highlights small class teaching with a low student-to-teacher ratio. Beyond academics, learners join After-School Activities and ECAs across arts, sport, and interest areas; notable student leadership includes the Ecobrick Saigon sustainability project. Leadership is shared by Co-Heads of School Jo Roberts and Ben Armstrong.
