Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE)
JIS is authorised to deliver the Cambridge International Programme, including IGCSE and AS & A Level qualifications. This allows the school to register students for Cambridge examinations and follow Cambridge curriculum frameworks.
Japanese-model Education Programme
JIS states that it is “the only school in Vietnam following the Japanese education model”, indicating educational alignment with Japanese curricular structures and teaching approaches. While this is a curricular affiliation rather than a formal accreditation body, it is a defined institutional framework that shapes teaching and learning at the school.
The school does not publish a list of formal awards received by the institution.
Japanese International School (JIS) in Hanoi was founded in 2016 and offers education from kindergarten to grade 12 following a blend of the Japanese education model and the Cambridge International Programme. JIS provides pathways through Japanese Curriculum, IEYC, Cambridge IGCSE, and AS/A Level, with detailed tuition information published annually. A distinctive feature of the school is its 2,000 m² rooftop vegetable garden, used daily as a green learning space. Students can also use extensive physical education facilities, join after-school clubs such as basketball, football, dance, piano, karate and swimming, and, from age six, choose boarding on campus. In 2024, JIS ranked among the top two high schools in Hanoi for average foreign-language scores in the national graduation exam.
