Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

Singapore International School @ Binh Duong New City (SIS BDNC) is part of KinderWorld Education Group's network of international schools. SIS BDNC was originally located in the Canary urban complex in 2009 and moved to a dedicated 2.6‑hectare campus on Le Loi Street in Binh Duong New City in 2012 to serve students from Pre‑Nursery to High School, accommodating up to about 2,400 pupils. The campus is conceived as Phase 2 of KinderWorld's three‑phase 'Super School' development for Binh Duong New City, with Phase 3 planned to expand facilities further. KinderWorld International Group, founded in 1986 in Singapore, oversees a portfolio of international campuses in Vietnam, including SIS BDNC and other KinderWorld schools. The SIS BDNC campus sits at Lot F7, Le Loi Street, in the New City area of Binh Duong, Thu Dau Mot City, Vietnam.

Community

Singapore International School @ Binh Duong New City maintains an active school community with regular cultural and academic events. The campus hosts Mid‑Autumn Festival, Teachers' Day, Halloween, Christmas Fair, and Tet celebrations, as highlighted in newsletters and year pages. Graduation and Award Ceremonies are held to recognize student achievements (for example, the 2021‑2022 Graduation and Award Ceremony). The school publishes bilingual newsletters (English and Vietnamese) sharing principal messages, student reports, STEM updates, and milestone events to keep families informed.

Parent-Teacher Association

Within the Singapore International School network, parent involvement is typically organized through a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). For example, SIS Hong Kong maintains a PTA with events such as Spring Fair and a dedicated PTA page, and SIS HK's community pages describe active parent volunteers and programmes. SIS BDNC publishes regular bilingual newsletters and highlights events that involve families, such as Graduation and Award ceremonies and cultural celebrations like Mid‑Autumn Festival and Tet. These demonstrate active family engagement through school communications and events. Therefore, while a BDNC‑specific PTA page is not publicly listed on the campus site, the SIS network's PTA model provides a framework for family involvement in school life.
