Singapore International School Van Phuc was founded in 2004. It is a part of the broader network of schools under KinderWorld Education Group, which operates multiple international and bilingual schools across Vietnam.
Over the years, the school has expanded largely. For example, after renovation in 2019 it added new facilities including a gymnasium, ICT labs, a swimming pool, a football field, and specialist rooms for Music, STEM and Art/Craft.
The school introduced the KinderWorld International Kindergarten (KIK) programme, catering for children starting at about 18 months of age, broadening the age range and making the school a full early-childhood + primary offering.
SIS Van Phuc maintains a fairly active school community with regular events and cultural celebrations. For instance, their 2025 February newsletter highlights a Tết (Lunar New Year) celebration, with musical performances by students and teachers, indicating the school supports Vietnamese cultural traditions alongside its international curriculum. The school also organises broader community events like an Easter Fair and Open Day, which help bring together current families and prospective ones.
Extra-curricular activities such as choir, art clubs, cooking classes, sports clubs, robotics, and chess are offered; these serve as social and hobby-based venues where students, parents and teachers likely build a sense of community.
The school does not disclose any PTA structure or formal parent-governance group. Parent involvement appears to be via regular parent-teacher meetings, participation in school events (Open Day, fairs), and collaboration on student welfare and community activities, but no formal PTA is documented.
Singapore International School Van Phuc is located in the Van Phuc Diplomatic Compound in Hanoi, offering a full International Programme from Pre-School through Senior High (Years 9–12). The school combines the Singapore curriculum for English, Mathematics, and Science with the Cambridge Curriculum in later years, culminating in Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A-Level qualifications. Students receive their lessons in English, with Chinese and Vietnamese offered as additional languages. On campus, there are facilities such as ICT labs, swimming pool, a football field, and dedicated rooms for Music, STEM, and Art/Craft. A distinctive feature is the school’s partnership with Outward Bound Vietnam (OBV), which provides outdoor-education programmes from Year 4 onward to support teamwork, resilience, and life skills.
