St. Paul American School Hanoi (SPASH) was founded in 2011, with its first official day of school on August 13 of that year. It began in the VEAM Building in the Tây Hồ area of Hanoi with around 50 students in Kindergarten through Grade 10. In 2015, the school relocated to the Splendora campus in Hoài Đức District, marking a significant expansion in both facilities and enrollment. Since then, it has continued to grow and develop as a fully accredited American international school serving Grades 1–12.
The school community is active and diverse, bringing together students, parents, and teachers through numerous cultural and social events. Annual celebrations include Tết, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and International Language Week, which foster cultural understanding and student engagement. The school also organizes community service initiatives, such as fundraising efforts to support local families and the popular “Hanoi World Cup” football event that unites the wider community through sport.
Parent engagement at SPASH is coordinated through the PALs (Parents and Leaders) group, which serves as the school’s parent association. PALs meet regularly with division principals to share updates and discuss community events. The group organizes large-scale activities such as the annual Spring Fair, which brings together hundreds of families and local vendors for performances and charity fundraising. Parent-Teacher Conferences are held each year to review student progress and learning goals. Communication between the school and parents is maintained through newsletters, meetings, and community gatherings.
