It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
CIS was founded in 2009. It was developed under the Khoi Nguyen Education Group (KNE), the operator of the Canadian International and Bilingual school system in Ho Chi Minh City. In December 2022, EQuest Education Group announced a strategic partnership in which it became a key shareholder in KNE and joined KNE’s board; CIS is one of the four KNE schools named in that announcement.
The school hosts regular community and cultural events on campus. Recent examples include an annual Spring Fair (2024) drawing families for cultural and culinary activities, Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations inviting the community to wear traditional áo dài, and themed summer camps for students. CIS also features student life events such as an overnight Grade 12 “Camping Night” on campus, and showcases student participation in citywide arts and academic activities.
CIS has an active parent association (CISPA). In April 2024, the school hosted an information session on re-establishing CISPA, outlining goals to strengthen collaboration between families and the school and to engage parents as partners. Subsequent updates describe well-attended parent association meetings focused on two-way communication, feedback, and community building. These activities sit alongside regular parent–teacher events (e.g., secondary parent–teacher conference days) that the school publicizes in its news feed.
The Canadian International School (CIS) in Ho Chi Minh City offers education from preschool (age 4) to Grade 12, combining Ontario’s Canadian curriculum with the IB Diploma in Grades 11–12; students in Grades 9–10 can also take AP courses. Instruction is in English, with Vietnamese or French taught as second languages depending on student background. The campus in District 7 features extensive facilities such as an Olympic-length swimming pool and the FIBA-certified MLC gymnasium. CIS publishes an annual tuition schedule and offers both bus transportation and boarding. Co-curriculars run twice weekly and span STEM, arts, service (including Habitat for Humanity and GIN), and numerous sports.
