Harare International School is an American-sponsored, independent, non-profit co-educational day school in Mount Pleasant, Harare, serving students from age 3 through 18. It offers the International Baccalaureate continuum—Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme—preparing learners for global citizenship. The Elementary School serves ages 3–11 (PYP), and the Secondary School covers Grades 6–12 (DP in 11–12). The school operates on a Northern Hemisphere calendar, with the academic year running from mid-August to mid-June. The 22-acre campus features distinct facilities for early childhood, elementary, middle and high school, including a 700-seat performing arts center, drama and music classrooms, visual arts spaces, three science laboratories, a large gym and a swimming pool. Instruction is in English, with French or Spanish offered as additional languages. Zimbabwe's IB World School status is supported by U.S. Office of Overseas Schools and U.S. Embassy backing, underscoring a long-standing commitment to international education in Zimbabwe today.
