Armenia

The school has a Uniform booklet. Uniform items include a shirt for students from Early Years to Year 13, a dress for Early Years to Year 6, polo shirts (short sleeve and long sleeve), a PE track suit, a sweater and trousers. The curriculum is a British-style program accredited by the University of Cambridge. It combines the British National, Cambridge International, and Armenian National curricula for students aged 3 to 18. It starts with Early Years Preschool, continues through Primary School, and moves to Secondary School (Lower Secondary, IGCSE, AS and A Level).

A Level qualifications are the final two years and are accepted by universities around the world. Some CIS Armenia students go on to study in the USA and Canada.

Personal, Social and Emotional Development is embedded in CIS Armenia's curriculum. In Early Years Preschool, the program is taught in English and focuses on developing personal, social and emotional wellbeing and related skills. In Primary, Personal and Social Education is included as part of the Cambridge International Curriculum.

English is the language of instruction. In Primary, the school uses English as a Second Language guidelines; Russian is taught from Year 1, and Armenian is taught for native speakers from Year 1.

The curriculum includes Personal, Social and Emotional Development across Early Years to Primary to support mental wellbeing. Community Wellbeing is featured in school communications and newsletters.

Enrollment for 2025-2026 starts March 3, 2025, for children aged 3 to 18. Parents may visit CIS Armenia International School before submitting an application by calling the Admissions Office to schedule a visit. To apply, fill in the online application form and submit it to the Admissions Office electronically. All applicants undergo assessments as part of the admissions process, with separate guidelines for Primary and Secondary entry. Early Years Foundation Stage (FS1-FS2): filled in application form; play-based interview with the child and Q&A with parents; copies of the applicant's passport and its Armenian translation; copies of the applicant's parent/legal guardian's passport and its Armenian translation. Primary School Years 1 and 2: filled in application form; basic Maths and English assessment; interview with the school psychologist; previous school reports (if applicable); copies of passports with Armenian translations; meeting with the Head of Primary School. Primary School Years 3-6: filled in application form; interview with the school psychologist; Cambridge test in Maths, English or English as a Second Language; interview with Head of Primary; previous school reports. The assessments determine the support or extension program needed and placement. Acceptance occurs when a place is available: sign the school contract and pay tuition. Most students join in September, but admissions may occur throughout the year if places are available. Official documents required include: passport of the applicant; passport of one of the applicant's parents; two passport-size photographs of the applicant; Medical and Health Record for the child (form N26 from a medical center); academic transcripts and attendance records from previous schools (if applicable). Armenia

Students live in on-campus residences called toons (Armenian for 'house'). Usually two or four students share a room; Toon Parents supervise the residences to maintain a safe and healthy environment.

The college cafeteria provides five meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner, plus two snacks). The menu accommodates dietary needs with vegan, dairy-free, halal, and gluten-free options, and dishes are labelled; themed meals occur during cultural weeks; a Food Committee monitors service.

There are four Toons: Vardenis, Maymekh, Arpa and Debed. The UWC Dilijan Student Council comprises eight Toon representatives, two from each Toon, reflecting the house-based residential structure.

UWC Dilijan College was established by the Dilijan International School of Armenia Foundation (DISA) and is governed by its Board of Governors. The Board, which can have up to 15 members, is the highest managing body and approves the budget and appoints the Head. The Foundation is a non-commercial legal entity; Scholae Mundi Foundation (CIO) supports the College financially and by promotion, with at least one-third of its trustees serving on UWCD's Board.

IB Diploma Programme (16+) taught in English. The IB Diploma Programme is a two-year programme for students aged 16-19, recognised by universities worldwide. The DP comprises six subject groups: Group 1 Studies in Language and Literature; Group 2 Language Acquisition; Group 3 Individuals and Societies; Group 4 Sciences; Group 5 Mathematics; Group 6 The Arts. The core components are Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE) of 4000 words, and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). The curriculum is delivered in English as the working language, with Armenian and Russian support for language learners and related courses offered as part of language provision.

UWC Dilijan provides a multi-tiered pastoral system to support students emotionally. Toon parents (house parents) and pastoral tutors offer listening ears and help students balance academic, co-curricular and social commitments. Twelve peer listeners (two from each Toon) are trained and supervised by the Pastoral Counsellor and Toon parents to provide peer support. A full-time Pastoral Counselling Service offers individual and group counselling, psychotherapy and group mediation to promote psychological wellbeing. The residential life programme and community culture emphasize supportive relationships across staff and students to foster social-emotional growth.

UWCD SEN Policy recognises that students come with diverse learning needs and outlines support for Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD). The school promotes inclusive education and may provide appropriate accommodations and strategies to support learners with SEN/SpLD. English as an Additional Language is considered within SEN contexts.

Pastoral Counselling Service provides psychological facilitation and support for individuals and the community. Services include individual counselling, group counselling, psychotherapy, group mediation and experiential groups. Activities and programmes promote psychological wellbeing, foster self-awareness and resilience, and help develop interpersonal skills. Peer listeners and the residential team contribute to emotional support as part of the wellbeing framework.

A safeguarding policy exists to protect the welfare of students. There are designated safeguarding leads and contact points for concerns, including safeguarding@uwcdilijan.am. The policy covers procedures for dealing with safeguarding concerns and ensures safety across campus.

Decide your application route: UWC Dilijan provides two paths to the IB Diploma Programme—through the UWC National Committee (with potential scholarships) or through the UWC Global Selection Programme (direct application to UWC Dilijan with no scholarship). For the 2026/27 entry, applicants must be 16 or 17 years old on 1 September 2026, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is taught in English. The two-year program costs $88,000, payable in five installments, and places are limited.

Scholarships are available through the UWC National Committee selection process, with both full and partial awards available; initial admission decisions are said to be ‘needs blind' and scholarships are granted on the basis of need and means. Education at UWC is provided independent of socio-economic means through a comprehensive scholarship system. If applying via Global Selection Programme, you are not eligible to receive scholarships or financial assistance for UWC Dilijan.
