Mind Body Synergy is Lauremont's Mind-Body Creative Wellness Program for Grades 5-6. It focuses on emotional awareness, self-regulation, stress management and focus in a fun, creative and age-appropriate way. The program emphasizes choice, creativity and experimentation to help students build resilience and coping strategies without pressure or requests to share personal experiences. Through expressive art, optional creative journaling, gentle movement and simple breathwork, students explore thoughts and emotions in a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment. These experiences help students develop emotional awareness, confidence, focus and practical self-regulation skills, supporting their social-emotional development and lifelong wellbeing. Mental Wellbeing

Lauremont promotes holistic well-being through dedicated mental health and guidance services that support emotional resilience and healthy lifestyles. A Wellbeing curriculum exists for lower and upper schools, with a Wellbeing Committee and strategic plan. Daily Mindfulness Time, Daily Physical Activity and Outdoor Education are part of the wellbeing framework. The Elementary guidance program fosters belonging and provides social-emotional support integrated with curriculum expectations. History

The school began in October 1961 as Toronto Montessori Schools, founded by Helma Trass in a rented basement at Beth El Synagogue with 12 students. It was incorporated as a Not-For-Profit Organization in 1962. In 1964 the school moved to Bayview Avenue, becoming the Lower School's home. The school grew into a two-campus community and was renamed Lauremont School in 2024.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Single‑payment option: full annual tuition payable in one instalment on February 1; the single‑payment option carries a 4.5% discount relative to the standard plan.
- Term/three‑payment option: three instalments due February 1, May 1 and September 1; the 3‑payment option carries a 2.5% discount.
- Ten‑payment option: CAD 5,000 deposit on February 1, followed by monthly instalments from March 1 through November 1 (amounts vary by program as listed above).
- Families confirm their selected payment plan and method when they accept an offer and return the signed enrolment agreement.

Boarding / residential fees

- Lauremont School is a day school and does not provide boarding. International students must live with one or both parents while enrolled. No boarding fees apply.

Other costs and fees

- Shuttle bus service between the Lower School and Upper School is available for an additional fee; specific schedules and charges are managed separately from tuition.
- A daily dining program (hot lunch) is provided through the school's food-service partner; families should review dining program arrangements for any optional or supplemental charges.

Food Options

Aramark provides the dining program for Children's House 2 through Grade 12, with Real Food for Real Kids (RFRK) delivering meals to Toddler and Children's House 1. Aramark emphasizes fresh, high-quality ingredients and allergen management to accommodate dietary restrictions; Upper School meals are hot lunches prepared daily by Lauremont's dining team.

House System

Nests (Elementary) and Houses (Upper School). The Elementary Nest system builds community among Grades 1–6, with Nest Captains leading activities. The Upper School operates a House system with four Houses, advisory groups within each House, and House Captains; activities include Spirit Day events and intramurals to foster participation and leadership.

Governance and Ownership

Lauremont School is an independent school founded in 1961 by Helma Trass. It is governed by a Board of Trustees that provides governance and strategic oversight, with standing committees including Finance, Governance and Nominating, and Head's Support and Evaluation. Lauremont is accredited by CAIS, the International Baccalaureate Organization, and Montessori Canada, and is a member of CIS Ontario; the Upper School is inspected by the Ontario Ministry.

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Guidance & Counseling supports social and emotional learning across the school. The Elementary program fosters a safe, supportive environment where every child feels safe, supported, recognized, and heard. It provides comprehensive academic, social and emotional counseling, with goal-setting and social-emotional support integrated with the curriculum to build resilience. Guidance counselors work with parents, teachers and administrators to create a collaborative support network and provide resources on wellness and mental health. Mindfulness, understanding emotions, peer-to-peer conversations, and empathy development support emotional intelligence. The Upper School offers comprehensive guidance services, including counseling, classroom curriculum, program delivery, and school-community partnerships; Grades 7-9 include a Social, Emotional and Ethical Curriculum, and the DP Guidance program supports post-secondary planning for older students.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Lauremont School provides Learning Strategies to support diverse learning needs. The Lower School features a learning strategies center where learning strategists, a reading specialist, and guidance counselors collaborate with classroom and specialist teachers to create Student Support Plans and provide regular updates to families. Individual Instruction Plans (IIPs) are developed using a consistent template across divisions. The Upper School transition into Grade 7 is supported by Middle School learning strategies, and specialized programs include Academic Resilience Coaching (ARC) for one-on-one time management and organizational skills, and the High-Level Performer (HLP) program for students with external commitments. The school offers exam-prep workshops and peer tutoring, and provides post-secondary transition workshops to help graduates prepare for the next steps.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

International applicants must demonstrate fluency in English in both oral and written communication. Lauremont School does not offer an ESL program at any grade level.

Mental Wellbeing

Well-being is central to Lauremont's Guidance & Counseling program. The school provides lessons and resources that teach wellness and mental health and promotes a positive, inclusive learning environment. Guidance services address social-emotional support, stress management, healthy relationships, and adaptive coping strategies, with mindfulness and emotional literacy integrated into classroom activities. History

Toronto Montessori Schools (TMS) was founded by Helma Trass in October 1961 in a rented basement at Beth El Synagogue with 12 students. It was incorporated as a Not-For-Profit Organization in 1962. In 1964 the school moved to Bayview Avenue, the site of the Lower School today, and the Don Mills campus was reopened in 1966–1990. The Rosedale campus opened in 1973 and the Bannockburn campus in 1981. The Caledon-King campus opened in 2000 and TMS College was opened in 2009; the school joined CIS Ontario in 2005 and CAIS in 2010; IB World accreditation followed in 2007. Titus became the official TMS mascot in 2019. Dining Halls opened at both campuses in 2023, the Middle School building opened in 2023, and in 2024 the school was renamed Lauremont School.

Community

Lauremont School operates a two-campus community with a robust set of offerings that extend learning beyond the classroom. The Community Life and Programs include a Dining Program, Extended Care, Guidance & Counselling, Nests & Houses, Learning Strategies, and Student Leadership, all designed to support student growth and belonging. Scholarships

Lauremont School offers Financial Aid to help families who cannot send their children without support. Applications are submitted online through the third-party Apple Financial reviewer; a summary and analysis are then reviewed by the Lauremont School Financial Aid Committee, which includes the Head of School, Chief Administrative Officer, Head of the Academic Program, and the Director of Enrolment Management. Financial aid considerations begin at Grade 1. Financial aid is awarded for a single school year with the possibility to reapply for subsequent years. The family is notified if aid is granted, and the fee reduction is applied by the Business Office. The Financial Aid program is designed to provide assistance when needed and reflects the school's commitment to supporting families who require aid.

A wait list is used for admissions.
