Billing schedule and payment terms
- Academic year: three terms (Autumn, Spring and Summer). Tuition fees are charged per term. - Standard payment timing: tuition and other charges are payable termly in advance and must be paid within the first ten days of each term unless a Monthly Agreement is in place. Late payment is subject to a surcharge (5%) and non-payment may result in loss of the pupil's place. Specific services (for example, bus and catering) may be billed on different schedules (the school operates some services on a monthly/10-payment basis). - If a Monthly Agreement is signed, the school allows monthly instalments under the agreed plan.
Refund and cancellation rules
- Registration fee refund: if an application is unsuccessful, EUR 130 of the initial EUR 170 registration fee is refundable. - Deposit refunds and notice to leave: the deposit is refundable when the child leaves provided parents give the required written notice by the published cut-off dates for each term and all fees are paid and school materials returned. Specific cut-off dates are set for each term; if proper notice is not given, the deposit (or part of it) may be forfeited. Parents who withdraw a child during term time must generally give 95 days' written notice to avoid forfeiting the deposit; pro-rata daily fees may be charged to the leaving date. - No refunds for unused tuition, transport, catering, extracurricular activities or excursions where the student does not attend for any reason (the school's policy states no payments will be refunded for non-attendance). Compulsory excursions only refunded with a medical note. Exam fees and other external charges are also not refundable once incurred.
Boarding
- Boarding is not applicable: Wingate operates as a day school (no boarding provision).
Fee payment options
- The published materials state required timings and instalment arrangements (termly in advance within the first ten days of term or under a Monthly Agreement). Specific payment methods (for example, bank transfer, credit card, direct debit) are not enumerated in the public fee documents. Parents use the school's enrolment and finance arrangements to make the required payments under the school's stated deadlines. Late payments attract a surcharge and may affect continued enrolment.

Admissions
Step 1: Start the application. Complete the Enrolment Form online via the Admissions Enquiry heading to begin the admissions process and to arrange a school tour. An Admissions Officer is available to assist with questions at any stage. A visit to meet staff and observe classes is encouraged before making a decision. Step 2: Register documents and pay the registration fee. Submit the last two school reports and the child's birth certificate and passport, along with both parents' passports. Include NIEs (where possible), Empadronamiento (Residence Certificate in Tenerife) if available, and current telephone and contact details. The registration fee is €160, a one-off payment refundable only if Wingate cannot offer a place or partially refundable if you withdraw before a formal offer. Step 3: Interview, offer, or waiting list. If a class place is available, an interview is arranged with at least one parent and the child, in person or via Skype. If a place is offered, you receive an automated acceptance email followed by a detailed email with the start date and payment information. If the class is full, you are placed on the waiting list and will be contacted when a place becomes available (Wingate may offer a place in a younger year if appropriate). If Wingate determines the school is not right for your child, the registration fee will be refunded. Step 4: Deposits, Chromebook and language. The deposit is due one month after acceptance (unless the date is earlier). For Year 5 and above, a Chromebook must be purchased, with payment due one month after acceptance. The school teaches in English. EAL students should refer to the EAL Policy for parental responsibilities. Step 5: Year placement and KS4/Sixth Form entry. Students are placed in the correct age year group based on UK birth-date ranges; if the chosen year is full or unsuitable, Wingate will discuss an alternative placement with you. Entry into KS4 or the Sixth Form is not normally offered directly into Year 11 or Year 13. Entry requires meeting minimum thresholds, an interview with the Head or Head of Sixth Form, and satisfactory references from the previous school. Step 6: SEND and additional support. Wingate does not currently accept students with SEND; parents must disclose any SEND at application. If a student is accepted and later requires extra support, additional charges may apply, and external SEND assessments may be recommended within two months; final decisions are made in the best interests of the child. Step 7: Waiting lists and siblings. Waiting lists are used when a class is full; positions are determined to maintain high English-language standards; Wingate's decision on waiting list placement is final. Siblings are not automatically admitted; if spaces are not available in the desired year, a place for a sibling may be offered on the waiting list. Step 8: Policies and documents. The School Policies cover admissions procedures, EAL expectations, SEND provisions, and year-group placement guidance. They include details on waiting lists, deposits, and fees. Parents should review these policies to understand obligations and rights. Additional information is available from the Admissions team.
