Application / Registration deposit
- A non‑refundable registration deposit of CHF 1,000 is required to guarantee a place; the deposit must be paid promptly to hold the place and is payable to EBSR SA (bank details and IBAN are provided on the registration form).
Tuition fees by year group (annual amounts)
- Pré‑Enfantines (pre‑Kindergarten, 3–4 years) – half‑day to 12:30 (no meal): CHF 9,900 per year. - Pré‑Enfantines (pre‑Kindergarten, 3–4 years) – day to 14:00 (with meal): CHF 12,200 per year. - Enfantines (Pre‑K to 2E): CHF 16,300 per year. - Primaires (up to 5ème / 5th Grade US / 6th Grade UK): CHF 16,500 per year. - Collège: CHF 17,500 per year.
Per‑term breakdown (equal division)
- Tuition is normally invoiced before the start of the relevant term or school year; if you require a per‑term figure, an equal division of the annual tuition across the three school terms produces the following indicative per‑term tuition amounts: - Pré‑Enfantines (half‑day to 12:30): CHF 3,300 per term (CHF 9,900 ÷ 3). - Pré‑Enfantines (to 14:00): CHF 4,066.67 per term (CHF 12,200 ÷ 3). - Enfantines: CHF 5,433.33 per term (CHF 16,300 ÷ 3). - Primaires: CHF 5,500 per term (CHF 16,500 ÷ 3). - Collège: CHF 5,833.33 per term (CHF 17,500 ÷ 3).
Grand totals (annual cost including school fees, meals, materials, camps and outings) and monthly installment example
- Grand total (annual) including tuition, meals, materials, camps and outings (provisional 2025–2026 calculation): - Enfantine (full‑day): CHF 21,080 per year; equivalent monthly payment if spread over 10 months: CHF 2,108 per month. - Enfantine (to 12:30): CHF 14,680 per year; CHF 1,468 per month (10 installments). - Enfantine (to 14:00): CHF 16,980 per year; CHF 1,698 per month (10 installments). - Primaires (total): CHF 21,800 per year; CHF 2,180 per month (10 installments). - Collège (total): CHF 23,170 per year; CHF 2,317 per month (10 installments).
Other compulsory or regularly billed costs
- Administrative fees: CHF 700 per year. - Annual school materials: Enfantine & Primary CHF 750; Collège CHF 850. These material fees are invoiced with school fees. - Meals (daily, billed annually): lunch for ages 3–11 at CHF 13.00 per school day → CHF 2,340 per year; lunch for ages 12–18 at CHF 14.50 per school day → CHF 2,610 per year; snacks (fruit/biscuits) shown as CHF 2.00 per day → approx. CHF 350 per year. All meal charges are invoiced with school fees. - Camps and trips: winter & summer camps (Enfantine) CHF 640 per year; ski and sailing camps (Primary and Collège) CHF 1,160 per year. These are invoiced with school fees. - After‑school activities: a non‑refundable yearly pass (access to all workshops) is CHF 3,700 (payable in advance). Individual activities are invoiced per term with published term amounts (examples: 6×/week = CHF 1,730 / 1,295 / 1,295 by term; swimming and theatre/circus have separate flat‑rate term billing). Activities billed on a flat‑rate basis are not refundable for absence except on presentation of a medical certificate. - Cambridge exam fees and other external examination fees are not included in tuition and are charged separately.
Discounts and special cases
- A 20% discount on school fees is applied to the second and third children in the same family for private (unsponsored) families.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- The registration deposit (CHF 1,000) must be paid within the stated reservation period to guarantee the place; the registration form makes the place conditional on payment of that deposit. The deposit is required before the pupil's arrival. - Tuition and administrative fees must be paid before the start of the courses or the relevant term; otherwise late charges and interest at 1% per month are applied. If tuition for a full year is paid in advance, a 1% discount is applied. Monthly payment plans are available; if spread over 10 months an administrative charge of CHF 10 per month is applied. Meals, material fees and camp charges are invoiced simultaneously with the school fees; regular and incidental activities are invoiced termly and must be paid at the end of each term. All invoicing and payment instructions require payments in Swiss francs.
Accepted payment methods and billing details
- Payments are required in Swiss francs. Bank transfer (the school provides Banque Cantonale Vaudoise account details and IBAN on the registration documents) is the specified payment method; parents are responsible for any bank charges. The registration form allows specification of the payer (parents, a third party or an expatriate employer). No credit‑card payment method is specified in the registration documents.
Boarding / Accommodation
- The school operates as a day school with a full‑day programme (hours indicated for the school day) and after‑school activities; no boarding fees or boarding provision is listed.
Refunds and resignation rules
- Deposit: the CHF 1,000 deposit is normally held as a guarantee and will be retained by the school in the event of cancellation or withdrawal after the deadlines described in the registration contract. The deposit is not returned if the pupil leaves before the end of the school year in which he/she started. The deposit may be retained to cover outstanding fees or damages; unclaimed deposits remaining a year after departure may be used for the school scholarship fund. - Resignation / departure deadlines and charges (contractual): resignations and departures must be announced by the specified dates to avoid additional charges. The registration contract sets the practical deadlines for resignations and the financial implications (examples of the contractual deadlines include: 30 June for withdrawal of new pupils only; 30 September for departure at the end of December; 30 December for departure end of March; 30 March for departure at the end of the school year). If resignation is received after the relevant deadline, the school invoices the fee for the following term as specified in the contract. - Activities and passes: the yearly pass for after‑school workshops is payable in advance and not refundable; flat‑rate activities are not refunded for absence except on presentation of a medical certificate. Exam registration fees and external examination fees are not refundable.
Notes on invoicing practice
- Administrative and material fees are due for the full year even if a pupil attends only part of the year; fixed fees are not prorated in short‑term admissions. Activity fees are invoiced termly and must be paid at the end of each term. The school reserves the right to modify tariffs annually.
Fee details

What is included and what is billed separately
- Tuition is billed as an "all‑inclusive" fee: school supplies and compulsory excursions are included in the annual tuition. Parents are, however, required to provide a small list of personal items (examples: apron and slippers for Maternelle; basic stationery and calculator/geometry set for older pupils).
- Items billed separately include exam registration fees, clubs and extra support classes, language‑for‑beginners classes, and one‑off options and per‑use services (meals, childcare when used one‑time).
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Invoicing options: monthly, quarterly (three instalments) or annual. The chosen invoicing frequency must be indicated on the registration form. Annual payments receive a 2% discount if paid within 30 days of the invoice date. If the annual payment term is not respected, the school may cancel the discount and switch to quarterly invoicing. Late payment reminders: first reminder free; after the second reminder a CHF 50 processing fee is added.
Sibling and sponsorship discounts
- Sibling discount: 10% discount on the total school fees for two enrolled children; 35% discount for three or more enrolled children.

No refund is made for non‑participation in mandatory activities or excursions. Specific expulsion/contract‑termination scenarios carry other invoicing rules as set out in the general terms.
Boarding
- The school operates as a day school; there is no boarding provision listed among the school's services. Transport is offered as a day‑service option for commuting pupils.
Fee payment methods and invoicing details
- Bank transfer: invoices and the registration fee are payable to the school bank account (Banque Cantonale Vaudoise, IBAN CH38 0076 7000 Z549 8365 4). Payment is expected by the dates shown on the payment slips. Annual payment must be made within 30 days to qualify for the 2% discount. The school issues invoices and payment slips according to the chosen billing frequency. No explicit public listing of credit‑card acceptance is provided in the school's terms and invoicing documentation.
Other practical notes on fees
- Mandatory activities (recreational, cultural, sporting outings, ski camp) are covered by the all‑inclusive tuition; there is no refund for non‑participation. Curriculum details
Curriculum details
English-French bilingual immersion from the early years. The youngest learners follow a 50-50 language split, with two years of interactive English immersion for francophone children and a transition year. From Year 3 onward, elements of the French curriculum are gradually introduced and the programme becomes fully bilingual with native speakers in both languages. In primary, there is a teacher per subject and language teachers are native speakers; the English component aligns with British programmes while maths uses the Singapore Programme for arithmetic and geometry follows a French programme. The programme continues through Collège, with students able to continue toward Gymnase entrance if they choose.
Curriculum details
Ecole Riviera is in Montreux and was founded in 2002. It offers bilingual French-English teaching with the benefits of an international education for ages 3 months to 16 years. Progress is tracked rigorously and each pupil receives tailored support. Pre-School is a French-English bilingual program with development across language, numeracy, environment, art and physical development. Infant School uses a 50/50 bilingual program with immersion to support language acquisition. Primary School teaches in French and English, adds German from Year 5, and provides a modern computer room and study trips; Secondary School is bilingual, with the 11th year preparing for the baccalaureate and Cambridge English and Goethe German Examinations.
