Otherwise, after the cancellation period, Parents must give at least one term's written notice to withdraw a pupil or pay one term's fees in lieu of notice. The Acceptance Deposit is usually retained where one term's written notice is given.

Refunds, deposits and notice requirements
- The registration fee is non-refundable. The acceptance deposit is generally non-refundable if the pupil does not take up the place, except where the school fills the vacancy created by withdrawal and the year group is full; in that case the deposit may be refunded less administrative costs. The acceptance deposit generally becomes part of the school's funds and is refunded (subject to deductions for outstanding sums) one month after the last day of the pupil's final term. - Notice to withdraw: a full term's written notice is required to withdraw a pupil (or a term's fees in lieu of notice must be paid). Specific notice deadlines by the term immediately preceding the leaving term are: 10th September to leave at the end of the Autumn Term, 10th January to leave at the end of the Spring Term, and 20th April to leave at the end of the Summer Term. Failure to give the required notice will result in a term's fees becoming due as a debt. Withdrawal part-way through a term does not reduce fees due and does not entitle to a refund for that term. - Exclusion or required removal: where a pupil is permanently excluded or required to be removed for disciplinary reasons, no refund or remission of fees will be given for the term in which the exclusion occurs, and the deposit will be forfeited in many such cases. - Circumstances affecting provision: if the school is wholly unable to perform its obligations for a continuous period greater than fourteen consecutive days, fees for the affected period will be pro-rated and, where appropriate, refunded pro-rata.

Curriculum details
The core curriculum consists of English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and a Modern Foreign Language (French, German, Italian or Mandarin). From September 2025, all Year 7 students study French, German and Mandarin; in Year 8 students choose two languages and continue with those through Year 9. The Middle School curriculum ends Year 9 with nine or ten GCSE subjects, and the Innovation and Leadership non-GCSE course may be studied instead of one GCSE Core Curriculum Science subject or an GCSE option subject. In Sixth Form, students choose between A Level or IB, and many A Level students undertake the Extended Project Qualification. G&L Futures develops critical skills valued by future employers through year-group projects that involve collaboration, research, evidence-based ideas and presentation.

1. Register for the relevant entry (11+ Year 7 or 16+ Sixth Form) by submitting the online registration form and paying the £180 registration fee by debit card. Credit cards are not accepted. In cases of particular need the Registration Fee may be waived; contact the Admissions department before registering if you require a waiver. Data privacy is explained on the registration form, and data will be stored securely to advise you about next steps; you may cancel your registration up to 15 days after payment. 2. Indicate on the Examination Entry Form that you wish to be considered for a bursary and send it back. A link to the online Bursary portal will be sent within seven days of receiving your Examination Entry Form. Complete the online application with all supporting documents. Deadlines for bursary submissions are published on the 11+ and 16+ entry pages, and incomplete or late submissions are not processed. 3. Sit the entrance examination and attend interviews (for Year 7 11+ entry or Sixth Form 16+ entry). Offers will be made by email, and the acceptance deadline is specified in the offer. 4. Apply for Music or Art scholarships through the Scholarships pathway. The Scholarships page explains that there are Music scholarships at 11+ and 16+ and an Art scholarship at 16+. The application is a two-part process: first you register, then Examination Entry Forms are issued; On the Examination Entry Form you can request details of the Music scholarship (and the Art scholarship if applying for 16+). Music scholarships are up to 30% of school fees and may include free music lessons; Art scholarships are up to 30% of school fees. Scholarships are separate from bursaries and may be combined with bursaries. 5. For bursaries: bursaries range from 10% to 100% of fees; a short interview with the Bursar may be held in January; bursaries for entry are usually guaranteed for the duration of the girl's education subject to annual re-application.

Three formal entry points exist: Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12. Stage 1 is Visit Us, with Open Events and Private Visits to view the school, meet pupils, and speak with senior staff. Stage 2 is Make an Application: for Year 7 and Year 9, register online by the published deadline, pay a non-refundable registration fee of £150, provide a photograph of the applicant and copies of the applicant's full school report plus any medical and Educational Psychologist reports as appropriate; those registered by the timescales are guaranteed to be invited to the Year 7 and Year 9 Discovery Day, with invitations for assessments issued after the Autumn Term half term; applications after the deadline may be discussed with Admissions. There is no priority for early registrations and all candidates are considered on an equal basis at the point of assessment; a school reference is requested after registration. For Year 12, the process is similar but requires the student's predicted GCSE results and includes an interview; offers are based on the interview, current school reports and GCSE predictions. Stage 3 is the Assessment Process: Year 6 Explorer's Day and Year 8 Discovery Day lead to assessment for Year 7 entry (Maths and English written work plus interview), with separate scholarship assessment afternoons for Sport and Drama on 11 November and for Art and Music on 12 November; Year 12 applicants are invited to an interview at a mutually convenient time. General information: assessment considers entrance test results, interview, recent school reports, academic progress, and other strengths; all years 7–8 study one Modern Foreign Language (French or Spanish); independence, attendance and positive engagement are expected. Other year groups may be considered where places are available.
