Refunds, deposits and notice requirements
- The registration fee is non-refundable. The acceptance deposit is generally non-refundable if the pupil does not take up the place, except where the school fills the vacancy created by withdrawal and the year group is full; in that case the deposit may be refunded less administrative costs. The acceptance deposit generally becomes part of the school's funds and is refunded (subject to deductions for outstanding sums) one month after the last day of the pupil's final term. - Notice to withdraw: a full term's written notice is required to withdraw a pupil (or a term's fees in lieu of notice must be paid). 1. Rolling admissions and space availability. Marymount operates rolling admissions and may accept applications throughout the school year, subject to space availability. Families should contact the Admissions Team before beginning the online application to learn about current space and entry options. This helps families plan for potential mid-year admissions.
2. Online application and initial steps. Begin the online application and plan to save your progress as you go. Upload documents (passport, visa, school records) and electronically submit the necessary recommendation forms to your daughter's current school. After the completed application is received, a member of the Admissions Team will be in touch to discuss next steps.
3. Assessment process by grade. The admissions process is holistic and rigorous, with assessments tailored by grade. Grade 6 entry (Year 7) includes an assessment day with an online aptitude test, small group activities, and an individual interview. Grades 7–10 entry involves written tests in Maths and English and an interview with a senior academic team member (online or in person). Grade 11 entry (IB Diploma Programme) involves written tests in Maths and English and an interview with the IBDP Coordinator; entry to Grade 12 is considered on a case-by-case basis, with a reference requested from the current school for all entry grades.
4. Offers, documentation, and visa steps. Offers of admission are extended following assessment and may be conditional upon receipt of official records and validation of documents. The school reserves the right to reconsider an offer if new information arises. Overseas applicants must satisfy UKVI visa requirements; the visa process is the responsibility of the applicants and their parents.
5. Language, SEN considerations, and grade placement. Students whose first language is not English are assessed on entry to determine appropriate English language development support (ELD/English B). If special educational needs are identified, a meeting may be arranged to discuss adjustments and services (Learning Resource Programme) and any related costs; the school may place students in the most appropriate Grade based on age and ability.

Three formal entry points exist: Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12. Stage 1 is Visit Us, with Open Events and Private Visits to view the school, meet pupils, and speak with senior staff. Stage 2 is Make an Application: for Year 7 and Year 9, register online by the published deadline, pay a non-refundable registration fee of £150, provide a photograph of the applicant and copies of the applicant's full school report plus any medical and Educational Psychologist reports as appropriate; those registered by the timescales are guaranteed to be invited to the Year 7 and Year 9 Discovery Day, with invitations for assessments issued after the Autumn Term half term; applications after the deadline may be discussed with Admissions. There is no priority for early registrations and all candidates are considered on an equal basis at the point of assessment; a school reference is requested after registration. For Year 12, the process is similar but requires the student's predicted GCSE results and includes an interview; offers are based on the interview, current school reports and GCSE predictions. Stage 3 is the Assessment Process: Year 6 Explorer's Day and Year 8 Discovery Day lead to assessment for Year 7 entry (Maths and English written work plus interview), with separate scholarship assessment afternoons for Sport and Drama on 11 November and for Art and Music on 12 November; Year 12 applicants are invited to an interview at a mutually convenient time. Scholarships in a range of disciplines recognise excellence, effort and engagement and provide opportunities to extend learning in specific disciplines. For Grade 6 entry, MYP scholarships include Academic (by invitation after grade 6 entrance assessments), Visual Arts and Design, Performing Arts (Dance, Drama or Music), and Sports. For Grade 11 entry, IBDP scholarships include Academic, Arts, Sports, Service, and All-Rounder. Applicants wishing to apply for a scholarship should indicate this on their application form; further detailed information is provided upon expression of interest.
Bursaries are means-tested and available in a limited number each year. All applications are confidential and considered on a case-by-case basis; a full statement of financial circumstances with supporting documentation is required and reviewed by a third party prior to any award. The bursary fund is finite, and awards are at the Headmistress and Governors' discretion and subject to annual review. Indicate on the application if you wish to be considered for a bursary; the Business Office will follow up. The bursary assessment runs concurrently with the entrance process and does not affect the testing outcome or placement. Written notification of bursary outcomes is provided simultaneously with a placement offer.
Scholarships
