The school is governed by the La Condamine Foundation, a private non-profit Ecuadorian association created on August 4, 1992, under an agreement between the Ministry of Education and Culture of Ecuador and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of France to manage the Liceo Franco-Ecuatoriano La Condamine. The President of the Foundation is Marie-Gabrielle Jara (Cavé), who serves as President of the General Assembly and as President of the Board, and is the legal representative of the Lycée La Condamine; the Vice-President is Antinea Garcés; the Treasurer is Arnaud Michel; and the Controller of Management is Jacques Landázuri Wiets. The General Assembly meets at least once a year to examine the financial budget (typically in May). The Foundation's statutes were adopted on March 25, 2021.

Founded in 1967, La Condamine Franco-Ecuadorian High School comprises a school, a middle school (collège) and a high school, and is a binational institution that follows the French and Ecuadorian curricula leading to the two baccalaureates. The American International Section is recognized by the College Board and is registered as a Cambridge Test Preparation Center. Courses in the International Section are taught by native and bilingual teachers at level C1 or higher, ensuring high-quality learning, and students engage with the language through academic, recreational and cultural activities.

The Parcours Éducatif de Santé (Health Education Path) is a health education program covering Education, Prevention, and Protection. It includes education on preventing addictive behaviours, nutrition education, promotion of physical activity, sexuality education, child protection, vaccination, and environmental health. Health professionals, psychologists, and the Vie Scolaire (School Life) team are mobilized for early detection of health issues that could affect schooling and learning, to support students in their health care journeys, or for health-promotion interventions. The program emphasizes a holistic approach to student well-being from kindergarten through high school. It supports students' social, emotional, and physical development through coordinated health education.

The Dispositif d'Inclusion Linguistique (DIL) provides an enhanced French-language program for students aged 6 to 15 who do not speak French. This free program helps learners acquire vocabulary useful for other disciplines. DIL classes have a small number of students to support intensive, engaging French instruction. DIL teachers are professionals with experience in French as a foreign language (FLE), using a communicative and active, immersive approach. The program aims to facilitate students' integration into the broader curriculum.

The American International Section equips students with a deeper knowledge of English and awareness of American culture. It began in 2021 and is one of the first AEFE member schools in Latin America to offer this section. The section uses National Geographic's Our World and Santillana's MYON reading platform to foster English reading, and students aim to obtain Cambridge certificates every two years. English is taught by native or bilingual teachers at level C1 or higher, with the section enrolling students from CP (1st Grade). Students receive three hours of English in addition to the regular curriculum, with content in areas such as science and sports.

Mental wellbeing is supported through the Parcours Éducatif de Santé, which addresses health education, prevention, and protection for students from kindergarten to lycée. The program includes targeted education on addictive behaviours, nutrition, physical activity, sexuality, child protection, vaccination, and the environment. The Department of Student Counseling (DECE) provides psychological, cognitive, and emotional well-being support, mobilizing health professionals, psychologists, and the Vie Scolaire team for early identification of health or well-being concerns and for guiding students in their care pathways and health-promotion interventions. The DECE also coordinates with families and teachers to support student well-being and learning.

Safeguarding is embedded in Parcours Éducatif de Santé through child-protection topics within health education. The DECE monitors students' psychological, cognitive, and emotional well-being and carries out preventive, attentive, coordinating, mediating, follow-up, supervisory, and training roles. The DECE does not conduct in-house therapies; when difficulties are detected, external professionals are engaged to provide appropriate support. The DECE also provides guidance and resources to ensure safe, respectful school life and to protect students.

Step 3. How to apply and visit. An admission form for 2026 is available, and guided visits can be scheduled for prospective families. The Tariffs document includes fees such as tuition, enrollment, teaching materials, insurance, and program-specific charges where applicable.

Step 4. Fees and payments. The 2026-2027 tariffs cover tuition, enrollment, teaching materials, and insurance, with separate rates for different programs and tracks (including International Section and American itinerary). Transportation and examination-related tariffs are listed in the tariff document. Zone-based transportation rates apply, and additional small fees may be charged for identification cards and other services. The Condamine offers two types of scholarships to support families in need. These aids aim to provide all students with quality education while considering each family's economic situation. For French students, the Embassy of France in Ecuador provides scholarships for the 2026-2027 school year. The application period opens Monday, January 12, 2026, and the deadline for a complete application (form and supporting documents) is Monday, February 23, 2026. Scholarships for non-French families are available as full or partial awards for families facing financial hardship. These scholarships may not be granted during the first two years of schooling, can be awarded for up to three academic years, with the possibility of a fourth year for terminal students, and the scholarship cycle opens each February. To apply, families must submit a complete dossier including the scholarship application form, a letter explaining the reasons for applying, and all required documents. The deadline for submissions is typically in February or April (varies by year); applications can be submitted in person at the school administration or by email to becas@condamine.edu.ec. All documents must be provided in a single submission, and incomplete dossiers will not be evaluated. Bus transportation is optional and location- and availability-based. Access requires completing the bus service form and adhering to safety policies.

The school has a compulsory uniform. Nursery and Reception wear a track suit, BSQ white t-shirt, dark blue or black running shoes, a BSQ Legionary hat and a House T-shirt. Years 1 to 13 wear a navy blue sweater, white polo shirt, grey trousers or grey knee-length skirt, white or blue socks, black shoes, plus a track suit, BSQ white t-shirt, BSQ Legionary hat, a House tie and a House T-shirt. Uniforms can be purchased at El Vellón.

The cafeteria provides a healthy, nutritious snack and lunch service with a vegetarian option. The menu is emailed monthly and orders should be submitted by the 28th; students may also bring their own food and microwaves are available in the cafeteria.

There are three houses: Antisana, Cayambe and Illiniza. A House competition runs weekly, and a rewards system includes Star of the Week awards and House points for sporting, academic and artistic endeavours.

The British School Quito is part of the Orbital Education group.

The British School Quito follows the British National Curriculum, providing a high standard of education and enabling students to apply to universities worldwide. The curriculum is bi-national, integrating British and Ecuadorian strands to help students become proficient in English and Spanish. The school offers Cambridge IGCSE, and is the only authorized Cambridge IGCSE examination centre in Ecuador. The IB Diploma Programme is delivered in English in the secondary years, and BSQ is one of the first IB World Schools in Ecuador. The Orbital Education group supports the school with access to UK-trained teachers and global expertise.

IB results 2020-2021: pass rate 95%, with a top score of 45 and four students scoring above 40; results were above the international school average of 89%. IGCSE results 2025: 74% of grades A-C and 18% A/A, with a 100% pass rate in Literature in Spanish. These outcomes reflect strong examination performance across IB and IGCSE.

Life Skills and Career Counselling supports secondary students with research and planning for higher education. A dedicated university counsellor provides advice on applications worldwide, and alumni attend universities across the UK, the United States, Canada and Germany.

BSQ places wellbeing at the heart of learning and recognises every student as unique and valuable. A supportive environment underpins all learning. Learning Support uses differentiation and additional resources to provide meaningful and equal access to experiences. The Student Support Department brings together the teacher, the student, and parents or carers to achieve the best outcomes. In-classroom observation, targeted targets and interventions in reading, phonics and mathematics are used, with some students receiving individualised support or counselling as needed. External providers are engaged for speech and language therapy, sensory integration therapy, occupational therapy, emotional therapy and other learning specialists.

BSQ provides SEN support. The SENCO works to assist students who need additional support in their academic studies. The Counselling team offers emotional, family and social support, individual counselling, small group counselling, life skills and workshops for teachers and parents. EAL and SAL (English as an Additional Language and Spanish as a Language) support is provided and grouped according to ability and level. Students with SEN are assessed according to guidelines for their year group. The school reserves the right to deny admission to any child who does not meet admission requirements or when admission is not in the best interests of the child.

English is taught alongside Spanish and the school promotes bilingualism from an early age. English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Spanish as an Additional Language (SAL) support is available and grouped according to ability and level. Many teachers speak both English and Spanish. 75% of our students are Ecuadorian, and in our international community we encourage all students to become bilingual.

Wellbeing is a core focus of BSQ. All students are supported in a nurturing environment, with a holistic approach to wellbeing. The Student Support Department provides targeted strategies and counselling when required, and interventions are adapted as goals are reached. Counselling offers emotional, family and social support, with individual and small group sessions and Life Skills training. Workshops for teachers and parents are available to foster wellbeing across the school community.

BSQ has safeguarding arrangements in place, including a Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy. Ms. Sofía León is listed as the Wellbeing contact for safeguarding matters. The policy and related guidelines are available for download, and the Wellbeing team coordinates safeguarding and wellbeing with a voice for the student.

Step 1: Submit an Enquiry. Register your interest by completing the online enquiry form. After you submit, the admissions team will contact you with further information and can arrange a visit to the school. You may be invited to community events and open days, and you will receive updates about school activities. Step 2: School Tour. The admissions team will give you a personal tour of the facilities, allowing you to see classrooms and specialist facilities and to meet a member of the academic team. Step 3: Start your Application. When you are ready to apply for a place for your child at BSQ, submit your application via the online admissions portal. The portal remains open for the duration of the admissions journey and guides you through the process. You can log in to view progress and upload documents at any time, and you will receive notifications about updates. If you have enquired before, use the same email address to avoid duplicate applications. The following supporting documents are required and uploaded via the portal: a copy of the applicant's passport or Ecuadorian Cedula; copies of the parents' passports or Cedula; the two last school reports (from Y2 and above); and a Financial Declaration or Work Certificate. Step 4: Assessment and Interview. On receipt of completed forms and documents, the Head of Section will assess the student's suitability. If the student meets testing requirements, an interview with the Head of Section and an assessment will be organised, with an accompanying meeting for the parents (Head of Section/Admissions Coordinator, Director). Depending on age, students will undergo age-appropriate evaluations (e.g., early years internal evaluations; GL Assessments; CAT4; NGRT; iGCSE/IB papers for older students). Step 5: Results. If a place is available and the student meets admissions criteria, an official offer will be issued. The admissions coordinator will contact the family within 72 hours after the assessment and interview with the results and the decision. The school reserves the right to deny admission if requirements are not met or if admission is not in the best interests of the child. Extra: Additional Services and Fees. Fees include tuition and all textbooks and teaching materials. Additional costs may include school uniform, optional school lunch (billed monthly if used), and transportation.

BSQ Anniversary Scholarships are offered to celebrate the school's 25th anniversary. They are available to Years 4–12 and can provide up to 50% of tuition for the duration of the relevant Key Stage, for both current students and external applicants joining in the 2020/21 school year. Scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding ability or potential and are assessed based on current reports, assessments, participation, commitment and an interview. Applicants are expected to have a high standard of English; for IGCSE/IB programmes, English competency of at least B2 on CEFR or an equivalent level is expected. Application involves completing the BSQ Anniversary Scholarship Application Form (available from Sandy Pazmiño) and, for external applicants, the BSQ Admissions Registration Form. The selection process includes a statement of up to 500 words, an interview with a selection committee (Principal, Head of Primary or Secondary, and Orbital Education's Regional Head), and a review of supporting documents (reports, evidence of talent, etc.). The deadline indicated for 2020 was 30 June. Shortlisted candidates may have an online interview, and final decisions are communicated to applicants. Conditions include maintaining attendance and effort, parental support, and compliance with fee obligations; scholarships are not transferable and are not exchangeable for money.
