VIS provides an English-language curriculum built on the International Baccalaureate framework. Early Childhood VIS offers a play-based programme guided by the principles and practices of the IB PYP, authorised in 2011. The Primary Years Programme is based in inquiry and conceptual understanding with equal attention given to developing skills and attitudes beneficial for success in an ever-changing world. The Middle Years Programme serves students from grade 6 through 10; VIS is the first MYP school in Lithuania and was authorised in 2013. VIS celebrated the first Cambridge graduating class in 2018. To earn the VIS Diploma, students complete 24–28 Cambridge courses and four years of English. In grades 11–12, students typically complete three AS/A Level courses, with some exceptions. All students undertake English and Lithuanian language courses; Lithuanian nationals also study Lithuanian language and literature. Cambridge AS&A Level course offerings began in the 2016–17 school year.

VIS provides support for social and emotional development through counseling and wellbeing services. VIS is committed to meeting the social and emotional needs of students, with support provided by teachers and a school counsellor to support adjustment and wellbeing. A school psychologist is available to consult on social and emotional wellbeing. The School Counsellor addresses social and emotional concerns of individuals, small groups, or the whole class; academic concerns including study skills; and peer and teacher conflicts. Access to support is available through self-referral or staff referral, with parents involved as appropriate. Conversations with the School Counsellor are confidential except when the student is perceived to be in danger.

VIS adopts an inclusion philosophy and accepts students with mild learning needs under the condition that they can meet the academic requirements of the programme with supports available at any given time. These supports are outlined in our Learning Support Policy. Learning Support is provided to eligible students and may include targeted interventions by learning support staff. The school aims to enable access to the curriculum with appropriate accommodations and supports. Parents may be involved in planning and reviewing supports.

English Language Support is provided to students in formats dependent on age and stage of acquisition. Students new to VIS are assessed using the WIDA assessment tool in primary school and by an internally designed assessment for those entering middle school. Primary school and MYP students may be eligible for targeted push-in or pull-out support by an EAL specialist. VIS has a psychologist to advocate for the needs of students and promote wellbeing. The School Counsellor's role is to promote the wellbeing of all students and to provide support on an as-needed basis. VIS Child Protection Policy 2023 is part of VIS policies. The Behavior Policy defines the school's expectations and prohibits bullying, harassment and discrimination in school and school-sponsored activities. The policy states that prevention and response to bullying, harassment and discrimination is a collaborative effort among administrators, teachers, staff, students, parents and the school community. Bullying and harassment are described in terms of verbal, physical, relational, and cyber forms, with examples provided. The policy aims to create a safe, respectful environment for all learners. The School Counsellor maintains confidentiality except when danger is involved; parents are involved as appropriate.

VIS offers English-language programmes: IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Cambridge International AS&A Levels for learners aged 3 to 19. Admissions are rolling and on a first-come, first-served basis, with consideration of class balance, language proficiency and learning needs. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and admissions assessments generally begin in November for the following school year. Procedures: schedule a visit or call with the Admissions Coordinator, fill out the Application, submit progress reports or report cards from the previous and current year, and possibly a Teacher Evaluation form. If space and eligibility permit, an Admissions Assessment is arranged; an invitation to the assessment does not guarantee enrollment. After acceptance, an Education Service Agreement will be issued two weeks before the start date, and the initiation fee of 500 EUR is payable. Fees information: Assessment fee 100 EUR (non-refundable, not a guarantee of admission); Initiation fee 500 EUR (non-refundable). Tuition for 2026–2027: Early childhood €9,630/year; Primary and Middle School €10,755/year; 11th–12th grades (Cambridge AS/A Levels) €11,880/year. The annual tuition is payable in three installments (Aug 26, Nov 26, Feb 23). Lunch is included. EC students may receive a 120 EUR/month compensation if the family's address is Vilnius city. Cambridge examination fees are not included in the tuition and may be 127 EUR per component (total 500–1,000 EUR depending on components). Re-enrolling Grade 11 students for Cambridge requires a non-refundable 500 EUR enrollment fee to secure a place. VIS is a Council of International Schools accredited, nonprofit, Pre-K–12 school serving local and expatriate families; in September 2024, VIS enrolled 512 students from 41 countries.

Queen Morta School operates campuses in Vilnius and Kaunas. The Vilnius Kalnėnai campus serves preschool through grade twelve at 29 Lukšinės Street; a second Vilnius campus on Gedimino Avenue serves grades 1–4. The Kaunas campus at 13B A. Lithuania

Lessons usually last 45 minutes; there is no bell and teachers determine lesson length. In primary school, traditional homework is not assigned; foreign language teachers may assign homework to reinforce content.

Uniform is mandatory daily. The primary school uniform consists of striped polo shirts with the school logo, a blue logo sweater, and a blue skirt or blue pants, with white or blue polo shirts allowed as substitutes. The middle school and gymnasium uniform includes white shirts with the logo, a blue blazer with the logo, and a skirt or pants in light brown, dark blue, or black; shorts are allowed in warm weather with length rules, and indoor shoes must be worn.

Meals are available in Vilnius and Kaunas as an optional service. In Vilnius, full-day meals cost 9.80 EUR per child (breakfast 1.90 EUR, lunch 5.80 EUR, snack 2.10 EUR). In Kaunas, full-day meals cost 7.20 EUR per day for primary school (lunch 5.00 EUR, snack 2.20 EUR) and 7.90 EUR per day for middle school and gymnasium (lunch 5.70 EUR, snack 2.20 EUR).

The school is privately owned and operated within the Vaikystės Sodas and Queen Mortos School organization. It was founded by Austėja Landsbergienė, PhD. The school is an IB World School candidate for the PYP and MYP programmes and Cambridge-accredited since 2017.

If specialist support is needed, the Child Welfare Team is involved. It can recommend that parents seek a formal assessment of a child's special education needs from municipal pedagogical-psychological services.

Queen Morta School begins intensive English language learning in small groups from pre-primary class, with daily practice. From Grade 11, all academic subjects are taught in English. Parents and other members of the school community are expected to communicate with English teachers in English, in writing and conversation. In primary school, from Grade 3, students begin learning a second foreign language—Spanish or French, with lessons held twice a week, and in middle school from Grade 5 the second foreign language is taught more intensively, with four lessons per week. All students who began studying a third foreign language (German or Russian) before the 2022/2023 academic year continue learning both their second and third languages at two lessons per week. The Cambridge programme supports bilingual practices across the curriculum.

The Child Welfare Team aims to ensure a safe, welcoming, and harmonious environment. The team designs and implements programs to identify learning difficulties and creates action plans to overcome them. It coordinates prevention and intervention programs and provides guidance to teachers on identifying learning challenges and choosing effective classroom management strategies. 1. Register for a meeting. The admissions coordinator will contact you to schedule the first meeting at a convenient time, in your preferred format (online or in person). You will discuss preliminary details and set expectations for the admissions process. This contact marks the start of the application process.

2. During the first meeting, you will be introduced to the school, programs, and tuition fees. You will receive an overview of the school's approach to education and a tour of the facilities. You can ask questions to understand how the school may fit your child's needs.

3. After the first meeting, your child will take a readiness and knowledge assessment test to help prepare for the transition into the school. The results will inform next steps in the admissions process. If necessary, you may discuss support options or accommodations.

4. When you decide to enroll, you will be invited to sign the education agreement. Enrollment then proceeds in accordance with the agreed terms and availability. You will receive information about required documents and next steps after signing.

5. For the 2026/2027 academic year, grade placement is as follows: In Vilnius at Kalnėnai, education runs from preschool to grade twelve; In Vilnius at Gedimino Avenue, from grade one to grade four; In Kaunas, from preschool to grade ten. These placements are subject to availability.

Karalienės Mortos mokykla Scholarship provides financial support for motivated students who cannot afford tuition. The scholarship enables attendance at the school and seeks to recognize personal qualities such as creativity, resilience, courage, empathy, and respect. The scholarship application period runs from the beginning of May until mid-August, and the number of places is limited. Contracts are signed with the first applicants who meet the criteria.

Meals at AISV are provided by the catering company 'Voverės' with a diverse menu including regular and vegetarian options. For Pre-K to Grade 1, lunch is ordered monthly with advance payment. Grades 6–12 students can order meals at the canteen, which is open daily from 9:00 to 15:00 and offers hot meals with a side dish (5.00–5.50 EUR) and soups (1.40–1.60 EUR). Payments can be made with cash or a Paysera e-card; Paysera cards can be purchased at the canteen (8:00–14:00). AISV is governed by a School Board. The Governors General Meeting owns AISV and AISV is incorporated in Delaware, USA. The Board includes ex-officio members: the Ambassador of the United States Embassy in Vilnius (or designee) with voting rights; The Director, Deputy Director, Business Manager and the President of the Parent School Association are board members without voting rights. AISV subscribes to the Principles of the National Association of Independent Schools for good governance.

AISV delivers an inquiry-driven, standards-based college-preparatory curriculum for PreK2 through Grade 12. It combines an American and international standards-based framework and is an IB World School offering the IB Diploma Programme for grades 11–12. AISV is fully accredited by NEASC and CIS. In May 2025, 24 AISV graduates completed the IB Diploma Programme with an 80% pass rate. The average score was 33 (world average 30.58). The average course grade for diploma recipients was 5.32, the highest score reached 39, and three graduates earned the Bilingual Diploma.

AISV provides dedicated college and career counseling to help students gain admission to universities worldwide, aligning with the IB Diploma Programme and supporting pathways to U.S. and international universities.

AISV integrates social-emotional learning (SEL) as an integrated part of the curriculum. In subject-area and Community Life classes, students develop self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision-making, goal setting, empathy, and a growth mindset. The school prioritizes students' well-being within a safe and welcoming learning environment, and SEL is supported by a comprehensive after-school activities program and college and career counseling to support social and emotional development.

AISV recognizes English language learners (ELL). Students entering AISV with limited English are tested (K-11) to determine placement in intensive ELL support. The ELL program provides five weekly sessions for Grades K-5 during Language Arts and during the Foreign Language block for Grades 4-11. The aim is to enable students to acquire or improve English communication and to participate independently in the academic program.

AISV provides safeguarding and child protection resources, including a Parent Safeguarding handbook and community handbooks. The school has a Child Safeguarding Policy aligned with CEESA standards to protect students and ensure safe and supportive school environments.

1. Complete the Online Application form and the Online Teacher Evaluation form. Upload previous school records and progress reports in English for the past two academic years, and upload a copy of personal information (passport-size photograph, child's passport, or birth certificate). The Application Fee of €410 is payable upon receipt of the new student's application form and is non-refundable; payment does not guarantee admission. 2. Once the application and required forms are completed, the applicant will be considered for admission. Acceptance to AISV is conditional, and each candidate will be evaluated based on information gathered during the enrollment process. AISV can provide educational services for a carefully managed number of students with a range of physical, academic, or emotional needs, but resources for special needs are limited. If information is withheld or not provided, AISV reserves the right to decline enrollment or terminate the enrollment agreement. 3. If admission is approved, the Admissions Office will notify the parents and send them the Enrollment Agreement for signing. AISV accepts students throughout the year as long as there are places available and a suitable program of study can be offered. The Admissions Office may request additional information as needed to finalize enrollment. 4. Entrance age guidelines apply for Nursery through Grade 12. Nursery must be at least 18 months old by September 1. PK3 must be at least 3 years old by September 1 and toilet-trained. PK4 must be at least four years old by September 1 and toilet-trained. Kindergarten is 5, Grade 1 is 6, Grade 2 is 7, Grade 3 is 8, Grade 4 is 9, Grade 5 is 10, Grade 6 is 11, Grade 7 is 12, Grade 8 is 13, Grade 9 is 14, Grade 10 is 15, Grade 11 is 16, Grade 12 is 17. AISV may consider exceptions to the age policy based on references from the previous school and initial assessment results. The grade placement is based on age and past records. AISV admits students regardless of race, sex, religion, physical ability, sexual orientation, gender expression, national or ethnic origin. The program is challenging and requires motivation and commitment from every student.

The Scholarship program for Kinder - Grade 12 provides limited tuition reduction opportunities for outstanding English-speaking students who demonstrate financial need and have a proven record of scholarship and citizenship to attend and enrich AISV. To be considered, applicants must have already submitted an AISV application and must provide the confidential financial form and all listed documents to the AISV Director no later than April 1, 2026. AISV is expanding scholarship opportunities for the 2026–2027 school year for Kinder–Grade 5, designed for highly motivated English-language learners; students with developing English skills may also apply. Documents required include a letter of request, the AISV Confidential Financial Assistance Form with all supporting financial documents, official transcripts showing two previous years of academic records, letters of reference, copies of standardized test results, copies of academic honors, lists of extracurricular activities, and any other documentation indicating academic ability. All financial documents are confidential and reviewed by the Scholarship Advisory Committee. The application fee described above applies to tuition-reduction applications and is non-refundable. The deadline for the packet is 1 April of the preceding year; the School Director will determine if the application should be reviewed by the Scholarship Advisory Committee. Awardees must accept within one week of notification, and guardians are responsible for all student needs beyond the tuition-reduction grant. Awardees must sign the Scholarship Agreement along with the Enrollment Agreement and maintain scholastic achievement to continue eligibility. The Scholarship Advisory Committee, comprising the School Director, the Admissions Director, and the Business Manager, reviews applications in April and presents them to the Board for approval; interviews may be requested for potential awardees. New students are considered for scholarships as applications are received.
