The department designs and implements data-referenced IEPs in collaboration with families, teachers, and educational psychologists. Areas of support include executive functioning skills, multi-sensory reading and writing, math support, behavioral support, and social-emotional skills. Learning Support co-plans and co-teaches with classroom teachers and coordinates accommodations for assessments such as SATs and AP Capstone; an additional cost applies and some services may require outside therapies or educational psychology.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The English as an Additional Language program supports learners of English. English language staff have qualifications and experience as English teachers. Depending on the student's assessed level of English, students may take English language instruction instead of a foreign language, receive in-class curriculum support, and obtain classroom and testing accommodations. LAS uses the World-Class Instructional Design and Assessment (WIDA) for entry, progress monitoring, and exit from the program. The EAL teacher writes an individual plan for each student and provides periodic progress reports.

Mental Wellbeing

LAS prioritizes the mental health and well-being of its students. All students have access to social-emotional counseling across elementary, middle, and high school. The school uses SEL approaches such as RULER to support emotional intelligence, with weekly lessons and ongoing support from a social-emotional counselor. The aim is to foster emotional resilience, a safe atmosphere, and healthy coping strategies in partnership with families and staff.

Safeguarding

LAS has a designated Child Protection Officer on campus each school day to oversee safeguarding. Mandatory annual safeguarding training is provided for all staff, coaches, and volunteers. Immediate reporting procedures require staff to document and refer concerns. There is emphasis on student dignity, respectful conduct, and trauma-informed support in all interactions. Safety protocols include supervision and safe-interaction practices, secure and confidential record keeping, zero tolerance for abuse, bullying, harassment, or exploitation (including digital misconduct), and safer recruitment processes for adults working with students.

Admissions

Step 1. Begin with an admissions inquiry and submit the required information. Seats are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis, and there are waiting lists in the high school, so applying early improves the chances of securing a place. Acceptance decisions are based on assessment performance, age criteria, and official school transcripts. Step 2. After all relevant paperwork is completed and received by the Admissions Office, testing for admission begins. All applicants to grades 1–11 are tested in reading, writing, and mathematics; if a student's first language is not English, ESL testing is also required. The tests for Preschool, Pre-K, and Kindergarten are conducted by the early years teachers, and parents are invited to meet with the Elementary Guidance Counselor. Step 3. Accepted students are placed in the appropriate class based on assessment performance, age criteria, and official transcripts. This placement ensures students start at an appropriate level aligned with their abilities and records. Step 4. Availability and waiting lists: Admissions are honored on a first-come, first-served basis, and if a class opening does not exist for an accepted student, the student is placed on the waiting list. Step 5. Grade 12 consideration: Grade 12 students can be admitted only if they are arriving in Lahore from a fully accredited international or American school and can fulfill all admission requirements.
