Admission Guidelines: DKIS accepts applications throughout the school year. An appointment will be scheduled at DKIS or as a video conference call at a mutually convenient time. The following documentation is necessary for all students applying to attend Danila Kumar International School: a completed application form to attend the International Kindergarten, Primary or Middle Years programme; the child's academic records from their previous school year, translated into English if necessary. Kindergarten students may be exempt from this requirement; a photocopy of the student's passport or identity card displaying their photo; psychoeducational assessment if necessary. Applications will not be considered complete until all documentation has been submitted. If necessary, families may be asked to provide further supporting documentation to help facilitate the admission process. The Admission Committee will review the application promptly and provide feedback. Applicants who meet the admission criteria will be invited for an interview at DKIS or via video conference. The Admissions Committee will then review the interview. The decision will be communicated to families via e-mail. Accepted students will be offered a conditional place in the grade level they applied for. During the first three months of enrolment, the DKIS team will monitor language acquisition, academic development and social-emotional issues. DKIS reserves the right to revoke admission at any time during the first three months of enrolment if the team determines that the student requires more support than the DKIS programme can provide. 1. First-time application documents. The International French School of Ljubljana accepts children from 1 to 18 years old from all nationalities. For first-time enrollment in nursery, preschool, elementary, middle, or high school, provide the child's birth certificate (or equivalent), a photocopy of the parents' identity document or passport, and a vaccination certificate. If the child has previously studied at another school, include a certificate of withdrawal and the current year's school report.

3. Arrival and departure during the year. Admission during the school year is possible (restricted for TPS admissions that can only be done until December 31 for pedagogical reasons). In this case, tuition fees are calculated based on the student's presence (all months are due in full). Leaving during the school year requires one month's notice to receive a proportional refund of tuition; any month started is due in full and other costs are non-refundable.

4. Payment, fees, and discounts. Tuition can be paid annually with a 4% discount, semi-annually in two installments, or via automatic monthly debit with a 2% discount. Discounts apply for siblings (4% for the 2nd child, 10% for the 3rd, 15% for the 4th, 20% for the 5th). Invoices for tuition and additional charges (outings, daycare, photos, meals, etc.) are issued and paid by bank transfer to the Parents Association account; cash payments are not accepted. Tuition is not subject to VAT. Late payment may incur default interest under Slovenian law, and non-payment can affect future enrollment.

French families with low incomes can apply for tuition assistance in the form of scholarships. The scholarships cover total or partial tuition fees for the AEFE-affiliated French educational institutions. They are allocated according to the families' financial and patrimonial situation, their composition, and the financial burden of schooling; the scholarship is paid directly to the school. Award criteria and the calculation method are fixed by AEFE. The child of French nationality, registered in the French register outside France, must reside in the consular district with one or both parents and be enrolled in a French school; children in kindergarten must be 3 years old in the relevant calendar year to be eligible.

1. Submit the Student Application Form. Please follow the link to the Student Application Form. Once the initial application form is received, you will receive an email inviting you to submit any missing documents to complete the student's file. You may also arrange a school visit or tour as part of the admissions process.

2. Submit Documents. The documents include one passport-size photo; a copy of the residence permit and passport; and vaccination records. For Pre-K applicants, the vaccination form must be completed by a pediatrician. For ages 5-10, provide copies of previous school records for the current and prior school year; for ages 11-15, provide copies of school records for the last three school years; High School students must submit official transcripts.

3. Pay the Registration Fee. After the Student Application Form and accompanying documents are received, you will receive an invoice for the Registration Fee—a one-time non-refundable fee of EUR 1050. The invoice confirms the registration and instructs payment details. The fee is non-refundable.

4. Schedule the Placement Test. Schedule a time with the LIS Admissions team to take the school's placement test and sit for an interview with the school's administration. The MAP (NWEA Measures of Academic Progress) computerized adaptive test provides initial placement data for Reading, Mathematics, and Language Usage, and all three tests are administered in English. Students aged eight and older also complete a writing task or essay. English proficiency is considered; LIS does not require English fluency to enroll, but older students require more English proficiency; if the placement test shows below grade level or additional support is needed, the Intensive English program may be provided at an additional fee.

5. Notification of Admission. Upon review of the application, student records, and placement recommendations, you will receive a notification of admission along with the education contract and tuition invoice for the first installment. If admission is offered, payment and signing of contracts lead to a welcome letter from the Head of School and information about the first day.
