Registration / Application fees
- Registration fee: GBP 600 (inclusive of 20% VAT), payable when the application form is submitted. The application will only be processed after receipt of this fee.
- Deposit / Development Fund payment on acceptance: total GBP 4,500 due promptly for every new pupil, comprising an acceptance deposit of GBP 3,000 and a non‑refundable contribution to the School Development Fund of GBP 1,500 (inclusive of 20% VAT). Failure to pay this amount within the required time may result in the place being forfeited.
Tuition fees by year group (annual and per term)
- Kinderhaus (children aged 3–4): GBP 10,920 per year (exempt from VAT). Invoiced termly; per term amount (annual/3) = GBP 3,640.
- Kinderhaus (age 5) and Years 1–12: GBP 12,552 per year (inclusive of current 20% VAT). Invoiced termly; per term amount (annual/3) = GBP 4,184.
- Loyalty discount: a 15% loyalty discount on net school fees is applied for a child after five full academic years at the school; families with three or more children receive a 15% discount for the third (and subsequent) child from the first year.
Billing schedule and payment terms
- Invoicing: fees are invoiced termly in line with the school's timetable.
- Due dates / payment timing: fees are due as per the School's terms and conditions — specifically the 15th of August and the 15th of January are referenced for the first and second semester respectively.
- Ancillary / extracurricular billing: afternoon programmes, extended days, AGs, books, excursions, cafeteria, school bus and other ancillary services are charged separately; when quoted and booked per school‑ or half‑year, those services are generally not cancellable and specific cancellation/refund terms apply. Some ancillary services attract 20% VAT and ancillary services are exempt from discounts.
Boarding (if applicable)
- Boarding: the school operates as a day school; there are no boarding facilities/boarding fees.
Other costs and fees
- Swiss Parents' Association contribution: an additional charge of GBP 180 per school year (inclusive of 20% VAT) is payable by Swiss Parents for the provision of a Swiss teacher.
- Association membership: membership of The German School Association is invited for all parents; the membership fee is GBP 25 per annum per person.
- School extras and trips: costs for textbooks, some excursions, some visits, optional activities and other extras are charged separately as ancillary items. Refunds for booked ancillary activities are not normally made in cases of misconduct or non‑compliance with activity rules.
- Uniform: the Deutsche Schule London does not have a compulsory school uniform. Parents should ensure children are dressed appropriately in line with school rules.
- Example parent‑portal purchase (yearbook): occasional items sold via the parent portal/ParentPay (for example the yearbook) carry small separate charges (example public notice listed a yearbook at GBP 12). Such items are separate from tuition and ancillary fees.
Refund information
- Non‑refundable items: the GBP 1,500 development fund contribution is explicitly non‑refundable. Refunds for ancillary activities are not normally made in cases of misconduct; specific refund and notice provisions are governed by the parent contract and school policies.
