Voluntary contributions are invited for some day trips; no student will be excluded from a curriculum trip for inability to pay, but residential/trip costs where charging is permitted will be billed. - Examination and accreditation fees: Charges may apply where a parent requests accreditation outside the Academy's normal provision, for alternative forms of accreditation, or where a student is entered for an external examination and then fails to attend without good reason. Mental Wellbeing

The CPSE programme includes a focus on mental and emotional well-being. It also emphasises oracy and debate to develop confidence and communication. The Social Curriculum supports well-being by providing tutor-time and assemblies focused on applying CPSE learning and developing resilience. The CPSE content promotes values such as equality, respect, acceptance and kindness in daily interactions.

Safeguarding

The Academy adopts a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, harassment and bullying. The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy DSLs lead safeguarding, with staff trained to identify and report concerns. Staff raise safeguarding concerns with the DSL and log safeguarding information on MyConcern; concerns are referred to social care and other agencies as needed. The DSL leads safeguarding practice and liaises with outside agencies; staff are reminded to report concerns promptly. Admissions

Specialist Places: Up to 24 places are offered to applicants with high aptitude for technology who sit a separate technology aptitude test; the test is optional and not applicable to in-year admissions; a supplementary application form is required. General Places: All Year 7 applicants (except those with an EHCP) are allocated to one of five bands based on the score from the Wandsworth Year 6 Non-Verbal Reasoning Test, which is mandatory for applicants. After the EHCP and Specialist places are allocated, remaining places are offered according to oversubscription criteria: looked-after or previously looked-after status; a sibling on roll at the Academy at the time of application; a parent employed by the Academy for a minimum of two years; and distance from home (nearest first). Age requirement: applicants must reach age 11 during the period 1 September 2026 to 31 August 2027, inclusive. Background: the intake should reflect the full range of ability and the social, economic and cultural character of the area. Scholarships

Sixth Form Scholarships: Each autumn, sixth form students are invited to apply for a scholarship worth £500 to enhance their academic studies. If the College is wholly unable to perform its contractual obligations for a continuous period of more than fourteen consecutive days for events recoverable under the school's insurance, term fees for the affected period will be prorated.

Boarding Arrangements

Full boarding, weekly boarding and flexi-boarding are offered. About 50% of senior pupils board by the Sixth Form. Boarders live in six modern, purpose-built boarding houses. Weekly boarders have an escorted train to Clapham Junction on Friday afternoons (with a return coach on Monday mornings), and additional weekly bus routes are in development. Weekends feature a broad on-campus programme of activities for boarders.

Uniform Requirement

The College maintains a single, whole-College uniform. The Uniform Guide is available, and Monkhouse is the appointed supplier with online purchasing and a showroom in Haywards Heath. A Second Hand Uniform shop is run by The Friends to support bursaries and special projects.

Food Options

The Café in West Quad serves a wide variety of snacks and soft drinks and operates cashlessly via WisePay. All students eat in the Dining Hall, where a wide range of options is available and dietary requirements (including vegetarian and vegan) are catered for. There are six boarding Houses: Lower School (Years 7–8) (co‑ed); two Senior Girls' Houses (Aberdeen and Toynbee) for Years 9–12; two Senior Boys' Houses (Mertens and Hilton) for Years 9–12; and Godwin Hall for Upper Sixth (Year 13) along with day students. Each House has a Housemaster/mistress (HoMM) and an Assistant HoMM, plus a Matron for pastoral care. Ardingly College offers an 11-18 curriculum. GCSE/IGCSE are taken at the end of Fifth Form (Year 11). In Years 7–9 (Shell) there is a broad core programme including English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, History, Philosophy, PSHE, Music, Drama, Art, Design and Technology, Unplug and Unwind, and Success for the Future; most students study two languages (French, Spanish, German and Latin) though some may substitute one language for Learning Support or English as an Additional Language. In Shell (Year 9) students also choose two additional option subjects from Computer Science, Dance, Design and Technology, Drama and Music. At GCSE there is a compulsory core of English Language, Mathematics, Science (Double or Triple) and PSHE; most students study English Literature as part of the core; three or four optional subjects from a wide list including Art, Chinese, Computer Science, Design and Technology, Dance, Drama, French, Geography, German, History, Latin, Music, Photography, Physical Education, PRE, Sociology and Spanish. Most students take nine GCSEs at the end of Fifth Form; the science pathway is determined by the College. Student Teacher Ratio

Small class sizes and an individualized approach are central. Regular progress reviews and personalised guidance by Tutors and staff ensure that pupils receive individual attention and can progress beyond their comfort zones.

The 2026 IB Diploma cohort averaged 39.5 points, placing Ardingly in the UK top 10. 58% of grades were A-A; 7-6 in IB; or D-D in BTEC. 25% achieved A, 7 or Distinction. 100% of Medics, Vets and Oxbridge offer-holders confirmed their university places on results day. Around 80% of Ardingly students who go on to UK universities attend Russell Group institutions. Ardingly College may not admit students with advanced or complex educational or psychological difficulties if the College cannot meet their needs, and the Head's decision is final.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The EAL Department supports international pupils in developing English language skills to succeed academically and socially. Overseas pupils complete an initial language assessment on joining, and specialist EAL teachers provide structured lessons; EAL tuition carries an additional charge. The Integrated Academic Pathway (IAP) is designed for Years 7–11 who require additional English support, focusing on academic writing, reading, vocabulary, and language for learning. Specialist support for additional language learners can be provided at additional cost, and IELTS requirements are considered for entry.

Mental Wellbeing

There is 24-hour health and wellbeing support with a Mental Health Nurse and Wellbeing Lead, and three on-site counsellors available to pupils. The Wellbeing facilities include a garden space for relaxation and confidential counselling sessions.

Bryanston's 2026 A Level results show strong progression to university, with 91% of A2 pupils securing a university place of their choice and 83% achieving their first-choice destination. Billing schedule and payment terms

- The school year is accounted in three trimesters: Term 1 (September–December, 4 months), Term 2 (January–March, 3 months) and Term 3 (April–June, 3 months). Annual tuition is invoiced and payable in these three terms. Any term once started is payable in full. Payments are made by bank transfer; the school's bank details and the invoice reference must be used when making transfers. ParentPay is listed among school payment platforms for some services. Boarding fees

Refund information

- The initial registration fee is non-refundable in the event of withdrawal and is not deductible from tuition. Any term commenced is due in full; this is stated in the financial rules. Other refunds (for example for unused meal packages or care options) are subject to the school's published financial regulation and invoicing terms.

Fee payment options

- Primary payment method: bank transfer (the school's bank details appear on invoices and the invoice reference must be quoted). ParentPay is used for certain services; other payment arrangements (where applicable) are detailed on invoices and in the school's financial rules. Boarding Arrangements

No boarding is available. A paid after-school care service (Aktiva) operates on site and takes children after class until 6:00 pm.

Leigh Stationers' Academy is an 11–18 secondary school in South East London, part of Leigh Academies Trust and sponsored by The Stationers' Company. Application fees

- Chromebooks / device scheme: Students are required to bring a Chromebook for daily learning. The Academy may invite contributions toward a Chromebook scheme or other IT provision as a chargeable item where applicable.

- Trips and residential visits: Where an activity is classed as an optional extra (including travel, board and lodging on residential trips and most visits outside academy hours) the full cost per student will be charged. - Other potential charges: Costs for materials that parents wish the student to own (for example, technology components, specialist textiles, art materials), replacement items for damage caused wilfully or negligently, and any optional clubs or external activities will be charged as set out in the Academy's charging policy and individual communications.

Refund information

- Remissions and exemptions: Where a parent/carer is in receipt of qualifying benefits, the Academy will remit in full the cost of board and lodging for residential activities that take place during academy time, and may provide discretionary remissions in other hardship cases on application. Parents/carers may apply in confidence for remission of charges.

- Refunds for optional activities: The Academy handles refunds in line with the Charging and Remissions Policy and the arrangements stated for each activity. Where a trip or activity is cancelled, refunds will normally be processed subject to receipts and monies being returned from suppliers/organisers; the Academy may retain small surpluses where refund thresholds apply. Parents/carers should follow the payment/refund instructions issued for each activity.

Curriculum

Leigh Stationers' Academy is an IB World School authorised to deliver the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP). The Key Stage 3 curriculum is broad and balanced and studied in Years 7–9, following the MYP framework; core subjects include English Language, English Literature, Mathematics and Combined Science, with Life Skills (non-examined) and Core Physical Education. Admissions

1. Apply through the home Local Authority under the Coordinated Planned Admissions scheme. The Local Authority coordinates the application process on Leigh Stationers' Academy's behalf according to the scheme published in the annual admissions booklet. Applicants should follow the Local Authority's published steps and deadlines to secure a Year 7 place. The Academy participates in the Local Authority admissions process to determine intake.

2. Year 7 intake and banding. There are 270 Year 7 places available for September 2026. All applicants are required to sit a fair banding test, including siblings of pupils already attending the academy. Applicants are divided into five bands based on test results, and admission criteria are applied within each band to ensure a comprehensive intake across the full ability range. It is not possible to pass or fail the test, but those not sitting the test at all will be prioritised after those who have sat.

3. Key dates. National Offer Day occurs in early March. National Offer Day is listed as Monday 2 March 2025, with emails sent after that date. A separate entry notes Monday 3 March 2025 as an additional offer date (emails sent after). Applicants should monitor correspondence via the Local Authority during the offer round.

4. Sixth Form admissions. There are up to 200 places available in Woolf Sixth Form for September. The admissions criteria for the Academy, including Sixth Form, are set out in the published Admissions Policy. In July 2026, a Taster Event is planned for prospective Year 12 students. Applications submitted after the February 20, 2026 deadline will still be processed, but students may be placed on a waiting list if courses are oversubscribed.

5. In-Year Admissions. In-year applications should be made directly to Leigh Stationers' Academy. The process for children admitted via the Fair Access Panel is in line with Greenwich Local Authority's published arrangements.

6. Appeals. If a place is not offered, applicants have the right to appeal to an Independent Appeal Panel.

Scholarships

16-19 Financial Support for Sixth Form. The 16-19 Bursary Fund includes Vulnerable and Discretionary Bursaries. A bursary can pay up to £1,200 per year for a student on a 30-week study programme to help with travel, books, equipment or specialist clothing. Discretionary bursaries are awarded to help students overcome individual barriers to participation, and the Academy decides which students receive bursaries and how much. Eligibility criteria for discretionary bursaries include household income below £25,000, travel distance over 10 miles, specialist requirements, or having an EHCP. Items that can be claimed include clothing, books and other equipment, transport and lunch on study days, UCAS fees and university visits/trips. Waitlist

Applications submitted after the published Year 7 admissions deadline will still be processed; however, if courses are oversubscribed, these applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
