The school is a bilingual, secular institution offering integral education. Daily activities help students develop social and academic skills to become protagonists in the world they live in, within a framework of honesty, simplicity, and gentleness. The program emphasizes arts and sports as well as curricular and extracurricular activities to help students know themselves and develop their potential. Arts and creative expression are central to daily life at Aberdare College. The Play is an annual English-language musical in which students from all levels participate on stage, in the chorus, or behind the scenes, fostering collaboration, camaraderie, and enthusiasm. Visual arts are showcased through classroom work and events such as Art Intercastle, with students designing sculptures and sharing their stories. The school also celebrates literary and artistic achievement in competitions and inter-school events, including literacy contests and chess tournaments.

The school is bilingual, offering English and Spanish instruction; it is identified as a bilingual, secular Colegio Bilingüe. It began as an English-language school and expanded into a broader bilingual program serving a diverse student body. The educational philosophy emphasizes values such as honesty, generosity, and justice, and education in confidence guides the school's approach. The motto Gentil en el modo. Resuelto en el hacer emphasizes gentleness in manner and determination in action.

Social and Hobbies

Students participate in a wide range of social and hobby activities. The Transition Project connects Kindergarten with future primary peers, fostering early friendships. Primary chess teams have achieved multiple championships at inter-school competitions, and students take part in cultural activities throughout the year, including plays and other events that build teamwork and creativity.

The school participates in community service and inter-institutional collaboration. Students engage in social-responsibility initiatives, including fundraising campaigns, and share in inter-institutional projects with partner schools such as Colegio de Santos Padres.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

Emotional education is central, with a program that includes mindfulness, weekly workshops, and involvement from families and staff.
