Official Intercultural Bilingual Education is offered across Glasgow College's three levels: Maternal, Primary, and Secondary. The program aims for real mastery of English through an intensive language-development approach and integrates language with culture, fostering intercultural understanding. The bilingual education emphasizes language proficiency together with understanding the cultures of speakers of the languages taught.
The Bilingual Project begins in the Maternal level, where the child learns by playing and singing. Throughout Early Education the language-acquisition process is promoted through playful and recreational techniques; in the 5-year-old class daily hours extend and auditory exposure and language use are intensified. From Primary onward, the student explores the language across different subjects. Glasgow College also offers opportunities to obtain international English language qualifications through Cambridge exams, and Portuguese is introduced as a second language from Primary. Secondary students take the CELPE-Bras exam in the final year. Glasgow College is affiliated with ESSARP.
