Northlands offers the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Cambridge IGCSE, and the IB Diploma Programme as part of its international programmes. The PYP fosters inquiry and cross-disciplinary learning across sciences, social studies, mathematics, arts, languages and physical, social and personal education, shaping confident communicators and responsible citizens. The Cambridge IGCSE develops essential skills such as recall, oral skills, problem solving, initiative, teamwork and investigation, with seven subjects including English First Language, Spanish Literature and French. The IB Diploma Programme provides a broad, challenging curriculum with subjects such as English Language & Literature, Spanish Language & Literature, French, Economics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Music, Theatre and Visual Arts, and the IGCSE and IB programmes are taught in English except for Spanish and French subjects.
The Arts programme includes visual, dramatic and musical arts as part of the compulsory curriculum since Primary, guiding students to express themselves and develop creativity. Participation in the arts supports reading, cognitive development, critical thinking, verbal expression, self-confidence, motivation and teamwork. Music education begins in kindergarten with violin using the Suzuki method; from Year 4 students may continue violin or choose among eight orchestral instruments. Visual Arts and Performing Arts offer ongoing opportunities with drama fostering imaginative expression.
The school offers English, Spanish and French as languages, with the IGCSE and IB programmes taught in English except for Spanish and French subjects. Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme incorporate language studies, including Spanish Literature as part of the language offerings. Northlands Plus offers after-school activities across arts, sport and recreation, including Hip Hop, Rock Band, Comics, Musical Theatre, Taekwondo, Ballet, Football, Hockey, Tennis, Swimming and Gymnastics. Chess, Choir and Judaic and Catechism programs provide additional intellectual and cultural engagement. Participation in these activities supports social development, teamwork and personal confidence.
The Personal and Social Education Programme includes Service Learning, which combines social responsibility with curricular skills and values. Education for Sustainable Development strengthens the whole school programme with gears such as energy and transport, waste, biodiversity and service. Graduates are active in NGOs to serve others.
Leadership is developed through the Being in Action axis, where students plan and lead projects. Service Learning fosters initiative, responsibility and civic engagement. Graduates frequently pursue leadership and service roles in NGOs and community organizations.
Wellbeing is a core priority, supported by a Personal and Social Development Programme that guides psychophysical, social and spiritual wellbeing. The four dimensions—Being Transcendent, Being with oneself, Being with others in community, and Being in action—shape identity, self-care, empathy and proactive contribution. Healthy Lifestyle Choices promote nutrition, adequate rest and awareness of alcohol and drug risks. Education for Sustainable Development aligns the whole programme with global citizenship and sustainable practices.
