Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
Online applications are completed through the Online Application Form and your child's name is placed on a waitlist for the year level you request. Applications are accepted online only via the Application for Enrolment page; a non-refundable application fee of $250 applies. Progressing your child's application involves receiving an email asking you to confirm interest as the entry year approaches. An interview with a senior staff member may form part of the offer process. Offers for Year 7 begin in Year 4 (three years before entry); other year levels are offered about 12 months prior to commencement. Entry into ELC requires full immunisation. To confirm an offer, families pay a non-refundable enrolment fee of $3,200.
Your child's name is placed on the waitlist for the requested year level after submitting the online application. Position on the waitlist is based on the date of the application, and an application does not guarantee admission. Applications are processed and assigned a waitlist status; offers are made when places become available, sometimes months after initial submission. You can change your preferred year or campus by contacting the Admissions Team; you may transfer between waitlists without paying the application fee again.
Caulfield Grammar School offers a range of scholarships across entry years and areas of expertise – Academic Excellence, Music, Sport, Theatre, Visual Arts, Dance, General Excellence, Foundation (Humanitarian and Indigenous), and Caulfield Grammarians' Association. Scholarships are open to new or currently enrolled students who are Australian citizens or permanent residents, with part remission of tuition fees from the start through Year 12. All applicants (except Music and Foundation Scholars) are required to sit a scholarship test; shortlisted applicants attend an interview. General Excellence Scholarships require evidence of excellence across multiple fields and include an interview; successful applicants receive tuition fee remission typically between 25% and 75%.
Caulfield Grammar School is a multi-campus independent co-educational day school in Australia, spanning Early Learning to Year 12 with a K–12 curriculum and IB. Across Caulfield, Malvern, Wheelers Hill and Shelford campuses, learning is coordinated; from Year 7 onward, students access a program including Product Design and Technology, Systems Engineering and Year 9 Robotics. The Senior School follows the Victorian VCE with more than 40 subject choices; students complete at least 22 units, including four English units and three sequences of level 3/4 units. Acceleration options enable a three-year VCE pathway. The school was established in 1881 and has a rural Outdoor Education campus at Yarra Junction (opened 1947) and an overseas campus in Nanjing, China (opened 1998). The Shelford Campus will open in 2027. Boarding is available from Year 9 at Caulfield Campus. Facilities include a 50m pool, a 500-seat Cripps Centre theatre, and extensive arts and performing spaces.
