Mercedes College offers a wide range of Co-Curricular Extension Activities (CEAs) that challenge students, expand skills beyond the classroom, and foster teamwork. Clubs and Societies include Chess, Debating, Robotics, and Mock Trials, alongside STEM-focused clubs that broaden science, technology, engineering and mathematics exploration. Students participate in state and national competitions and inter-school events to apply new skills in real-life settings. Intellectual activities are supported by opportunities to develop public speaking, critical thinking, and collaborative problem-solving across year levels.
Mercedes College has a rich Performing Arts program that includes music, drama, and dance. Students can join Choirs, Ensembles, Bands and development clubs, with private music tuition and instrument hire available. Drama comprises annual college productions and opportunities to perform on stage or work behind the scenes. Creative pursuits are further offered through Art Clubs, Podcasting, and Artist in Residence programs, while stage and performance opportunities bring together students from across year groups.
From Reception, students learn French language and culture, with an annual French Day to celebrate language learning. Specialist subjects include Physical Education, French, Music and Visual Arts, and our Dance Programme is woven into the Junior School. In Year 3, students participate in a Strings Immersion Programme, learning the Violin, Viola or Cello across a full term of dedicated tuition. The Junior School also provides opportunities to engage with French culture through language learning and related activities.
Sport is offered across the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools with a broad list of activities, including Athletics, Auskick, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Cross Country, Football, Netball, Soccer, Softball, Swimming, Table Tennis, Teeball, Tennis, Touch Football, Volleyball and Water Polo. Statewide carnivals and knockout competitions provide opportunities to demonstrate skills beyond the school environment. The annual Intercol Carnival brings the College together to cheer on teams across nine sports and activities, including music and debate. The Performing Arts program and music ensembles also provide social and creative outlets throughout the year.
Service learning at Mercedes College is a blend of learning, connection, and community engagement, supporting growth through year-level programs, whole-school projects, social justice initiatives and local community partnerships. Students learn to understand community needs, reflect on their gifts, take thoughtful action, develop empathy and social responsibility, and grow as courageous, principled and compassionate individuals. The Student Leadership Programme offers positions of responsibility across the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. Students nominate for available roles, and the student body and faculty select leaders. Leadership roles include four College Captains in Year 12 on the Senior School SRC, Year 12 Portfolio Leaders, and House Leaders who coordinate termly House activities. Junior School also features leadership roles such as Year 5 Captains and Junior School French Leaders, reflecting a College-wide approach to leadership development.

Mercedes College is a Catholic, co-educational day school in Adelaide rooted in the Mercy tradition. It offers a continuous IB programme from Reception to Year 12, integrated with the Australian curriculum. The Junior School runs the Primary Years Programme for Reception to Year 5; the Middle Years Programme for Years 6–10; and Years 11–12 can pursue the IB Diploma Programme or the South Australian Certificate of Education, with Vocational Education and Training options available. The College sits on a 6.5-hectare campus, bringing together Junior, Middle and Senior Schools.
