Facilities Overview

Mercedes College is a contemporary IB world school on a single campus in Adelaide, occupying 6.5 hectares of lush gardens. The campus comprises Junior, Middle and Senior Schools on one site, designed to support learning across age groups. In 2024 the High Performance Arts and Sports Precinct opened, featuring Gleeson Theatre, the Yitpi Centre indoor courts, a strength and conditioning gym, retractable bleachers and dedicated changing facilities, with outdoor courts and the Main Oval nearby. The grounds include the Rose Garden lawns and an exclusive outdoor kitchen and dining area connected to a senior study space, reflecting an integrated indoor–outdoor learning environment.

Sports Facilities

The Yitpi Centre provides a large indoor courts space with a strength and conditioning gymnasium, retractable bleachers and unisex team and officials changerooms on the ground floor. Outdoor courts and the Main Oval offer additional space for sport and physical education. The Yitpi Centre also functions as a location for whole-of-College events and liturgical occasions.

Academic Facilities

Art and Design studios, Science laboratories and Technology and Innovation spaces are used across the Middle School, with two industrial kitchens supporting the interdisciplinary IB curriculum. A dedicated Senior Study Space serves the Senior School, and the Gleeson Theatre forms part of the High Performance Arts Precinct, with the Coolock Atrium used as a social or learning space. These facilities are integrated within the College's High Performance Arts and Sports Precinct.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Mercedes College offers Co-Curricular Extension Activities across Sport, Performing Arts and Clubs and Societies. Sport includes Athletics, Auskick, Badminton, Basketball, Cricket, Cross Country, Football, Lawn Bowls, Netball, Soccer, Softball, Strength and Conditioning Training, Swimming, Table Tennis, Teeball, Tennis, Touch Football, Volleyball and Water Polo, with statewide carnivals, national championships and interstate travel. Performing Arts includes music opportunities, choirs, ensembles, bands and private music tuition, with performances at assemblies and external festivals. Clubs and Societies include Chess, Debating, Robotics, Mock Trials and STEM clubs, with opportunities to compete in state and national competitions.

Mercedes College is a Catholic, co-educational day school in Adelaide rooted in the Mercy tradition.
