An 11-acre AIS Vienna campus overlooks the city and is adjacent to the Vienna Woods and the Neustift vineyards. The AIS Vienna campus houses Elementary, Middle, and High School in separate wings of a larger, interconnected building, creating a family-like atmosphere on one campus. The AIS Vienna Theater was renovated in 2012 and updated in 2023 and hosts musicals, plays, talent shows, concerts, and assemblies. The Cafeteria seats about 270 students, with dining options in a smaller Café, on the terrace, or in the outdoor Amphitheater. The Elementary School Playground was recently renovated to provide outdoor space for supervised play.
The Sports Field offers outdoor space with views of the Vienna woods. The Mike Maloy Gym is the main location for all-school assemblies. The Sports Hall is the largest multi-purpose space on campus and is used for a variety of events, including the International Food Festival. An enclosed Fun Court includes a full-size basketball court, soccer goals, and a volleyball court, plus a recreation area with basketball hoops, recess courts, and table tennis.
Seven science labs are fully equipped on the AIS Vienna campus. The MS Learning Commons is a flexible, multipurpose learning space. The Theater provides space and technology to support the Theater Arts Program. The campus includes a Secondary Library.
Amphitheater is a common meeting place for students to study or snack and is used for classes, the Annual Pops Concert, Parent Teacher Forum meetings, the class graduation photo, and Boy Scouts meetings. The AIS Vienna Theater and Performing Arts Program has dedicated spaces, including a theater. An outdoor Amphitheater and the renovated Elementary School Playground support outdoor activities and clubs.
American International School Vienna is a not-for-profit international school for students aged 4 to 18. It offers a rigorous, relevant American/IB curriculum, incorporating the American Curriculum, IB Diploma Programme, and Advanced Placement courses. Established on September 1, 1959 by the Embassies of the United States and Canada, AIS Vienna educates about 800 students from 80 nationalities and operates on an 11-acre campus adjacent to the Vienna Woods. The school comprises Elementary, Middle, and High School in distinct wings within one campus, with facilities including seven science labs, a secondary library, a flexible MS Learning Commons, and a renovated Theater used for productions throughout the year. Notable programs include the Beamline Competition with opportunities to travel to CERN or DESY, Model United Nations, and a Theatre Arts Program with ISTA membership. The campus hosts AMIS music activities, a choir, German immersion, and diverse clubs; athletics compete in ISST and DVAC regularly.
