ICSV offers an English Language Learner (ELL) program to assist non-native English-speaking students in raising their level of academic proficiency in English. The classroom and ELL teachers are the primary educators, and English language proficiency is assessed via tests, work samples, and prior records. ELL classes are offered at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels and are required until the student reaches sufficiency for English-medium instruction. In Elementary, Extended ELL (ELL1) or Regular ELL (ELL2) may replace a German class to support English learning and move toward English-medium instruction.
International Christian School of Vienna is a private international Christian school in Austria with Öffentlichkeitsrecht status. It is accredited by ACSI and MSA and is an IB World School offering an American curriculum from age 5 through Grade 12 inclusive, with the IB Diploma Programme option for Grades 11–12. The curriculum is aligned with the CCSS, NGSS, and AERO to prepare students for US, Austrian, and international university study. The school serves about 320 students from more than 65 nationalities and is pursuing a state of the art facility to accommodate 500–600 students. The campus includes four science labs, laboratories and makerspaces, a library with digital resources, and learning commons with pullout rooms for nonnative English speakers and learners with challenges. Athletics facilities comprise a gymnasium, outdoor fields, a rooftop track, and spaces for afterschool sports. A performing arts space, recording studio, and pottery area support drama, music, and visual arts.
