The Linz International School Auhof (LISA) has been a school branch of Europagymnasiums Auhof (AHS) since 1992, and is the first and only public international school in Upper Austria. LISA offers both the Austrian Matura and the International Baccalaureate Diploma. The IB Diploma Programme has been offered since 1997, with the first IB diplomas awarded in 2000. LISA is one of three branches of Europagymnasium Auhof, and to date over 900 graduates have completed the IB Diploma at the school. As a public school, LISA provides access to both diplomas, making the IB programme available to students regardless of family finances.
The LISA community is warm, inclusive and diverse. About 450 students aged 10 to 18 attend, coming from Linz and from around the world. More than 30 languages are spoken on campus, and mutual respect and tolerance, along with high academic standards, form the foundation of the school culture. The main language of instruction is English, with a bilingual approach in the first two years.
The PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization) is a collaboration of parents and teachers that facilitates parental participation in LISA. We are focused on assisting new students and their parents in joining school life and providing information about LISA life and life in Austria. We also serve as points of contact. Every second Tuesday of the month we meet from 08:00 to 09:30 for LISA Tea in the school. We look forward to meeting old and new faces to exchange.
