Instalment due dates are 30 August, 30 October, 30 January and 30 March for ELC–Grade 11; Grade 12 instalments fall on 30 August, 30 October and 30 January. The school calculates tuition on full months and covers ten months of instruction. A €15 charge is applied for each late payment reminder. The school may terminate the schooling contract and unenrol a student for unpaid fees after due process.
Payment methods and invoicing
- Invoices are issued electronically to the billing email address provided. Cash payments are not accepted. Families may set up a Direct Debit Authorization or a Standing Payment Order through their bank to meet payment obligations; the Finance Office can assist with setting these up. Third‑party payments are accepted only if arranged on the online application and the parent/guardian remains liable for any outstanding balances.
Boarding
- Vienna International School is a day school; boarding facilities are not provided.
Other fees and variable charges
- English Language Acquisition (ELA) fee: €870 per semester for students who require ELA instruction (this ELA fee is not applied to children of VBOs or the Diplomatic Corps).
- Individual Learning Support (Intensive 1:1) example rate: a full‑time (100%) ILA rate is listed at €52,480 (parents are charged according to the percentage of ILA time required; costs include readers/scribes where applicable). Learning support charges are invoiced when support is agreed and are payable within 14 days.
- Testing and examination fees (e.g., external exams, IB re‑sit subject fees, SAT/PSAT) are invoiced separately and are payable within 14 days of invoice.
- School trips and excursions are billed per participant (category C and D trips) with estimated costs communicated at least four weeks before departure. Payments for trips are due in full within 14 days of invoice or before the event; payments are not refundable if a student withdraws from the activity except for certified medical reasons.
- Extra‑curricular activity fees vary by activity and are invoiced separately; payments are due within 14 days of invoice or prior to participation. Replacement student ID cards or lost/damaged school items may incur additional charges.
Refunds and early departure
- Application, Admissions and Capital Fees are non‑refundable once charged. The deposit is refundable (without interest) at the time of withdrawal or on Grade 12 graduation provided the Leaver's Clearance is complete and all school property has been returned; a bank account must be provided in writing for refund. If no refund request is received within three years of withdrawal, entitlement to refund lapses. The deposit will not be refunded if the family fails to submit a re‑enrolment response by the stated deadline or changes a confirmed re‑enrolment from YES to NO after the deadline. For early contract termination, fees are pro‑rated by full calendar months and remain payable until the termination takes effect (typically two months after written notice unless otherwise stated). Credit balances of prepaid fees are refundable (without interest) after settlement of outstanding claims. Force majeure events leading to school closure do not trigger tuition refunds for lost instructional days.
Late payment and collection
- Late payment reminders incur €15 per reminder; persistent non‑payment may lead to unenrolment and the recovery of outstanding amounts (legal/professional costs borne by the parent/guardian). Final reports and diplomas are withheld until all fees are paid in full.
