English is the primary language of instruction; most instruction is delivered in English, and graduates achieve a high level of academic English. Spanish is an official language of Bolivia; all students take Spanish according to the Bolivian National Curriculum, and non-Spanish speakers quickly gain fluency through the Spanish program. Quechua is an official language of Bolivia and is taught as an additional national language in Primary and Secondary. Mandarin and French are offered as elective extracurricular courses; Mandarin is taught by the Confucius Institute, except at the IB level, and French is taught by the Alliance Française, except at the IB level.

The American International School of Bolivia (AISB) is a co-educational day school in Cochabamba serving 800 students from Pre-Kinder through 12th grade across 15 nationalities. Founded in 1993, the school combines the Bolivian national programme with a US-based preparatory curriculum and the IB Diploma Programme. Accredited by Cognia, the school maintains an 11:1 student-to-teacher ratio and offers programmes in technology, robotics, visual arts, athletics and languages.
