History

The Colégio Suíço-Brasileiro de Curitiba is an international, multilingual, multicultural, nonprofit institution that does not profess religion or political doctrine. It has recognition and support from the patron canton of Aargau, the Swiss government, and the Paraná State Department of Education. The school serves approximately 800 students from Swiss, German, Brazilian and 14 other nationalities, from early childhood through high school. The teaching is bilingual in Portuguese and German through the end of Fundamental II, and in Portuguese and English in high school; French and Spanish are also offered, with Italian as an extracurricular activity. In addition to the International Baccalaureate Diploma, students receive the Brazilian high school completion certificate and various language certificates; the AESB maintains the São Paulo and Curitiba schools, governed by a Board elected by the General Assembly for two-year terms.

Community

The school fosters a sense of community through active family involvement via the Eltern & Schule association. All families are members and may propose ideas or participate in projects or action groups. A council of parents is elected every two years to organize activities in collaboration with the school's management. The association emphasizes celebrating multiculturalism and community spirit and serves as a channel for participation and communication, with leadership including President Célio Luiz Banaszeski, representatives Beatriz Burg, Martina Louise de Lara Harbs, and Patrícia Wyler, and a school-management representative, Cintia Pries Gorz.

Parent-Teacher Association

Eltern & Schule is the parent association for the Colégio Suíço-Brasileiro de Curitiba. All families are part of the association and may submit suggestions or participate in volunteer projects or action groups. A council of parents is elected every two years to organize activities in coordination with the school management. Eltern & Schule does not address pedagogical matters and does not replace existing parent representation; it serves as a channel for participation and communication. Colégio Suíço-Brasileiro de Curitiba is a nonprofit international school serving 800 students aged 2 to 18 from Swiss, German and Brazilian nationalities. The curriculum integrates the Brazilian National Curricular Parameters, the Swiss Lehrplan 21, and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
