Students from Grade 1 to Grade 12 are offered a robust after school co-curricular program. Activities vary from year to year depending on season, availability of personnel and facilities. The After School Program encompasses Athletics, Creative Arts, Academics, Technology, Wellness, and Global Citizenship. There are more than 40 offerings in the program.
Creative Arts includes Visual Arts, Music, Theatre Arts, and Film, with performances and showcases throughout the year. The Little Shop of Horrors production illustrates high school theatre arts and band involvement. EAC is a member of the International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA), connecting students with a global network in theatre education.
EAC is a dual-language school (English/Portuguese). International Day is a signature multicultural event with performances, cultural booths, nationality parades, presentations, food tastings, and games. Global citizenship is a focus area within the after-school program, alongside athletics, technology, and the arts.
Social and hobby-oriented opportunities are supported through the after-school program, which includes Athletics, Creative Arts, Technology, Wellness, and Global Citizenship. Participation and variety are broad, with more than 40 offerings allowing students to pursue personal interests and socialize beyond class. Programs run for Grades 1–12 and vary by season and staff availability.
Students engage in developmentally appropriate community service and action experiences throughout the school. In Preschool and Elementary, opportunities to take action benefiting their classroom or community are embedded into the curriculum. Upper School students participate in community service projects, usually in partnership with outside organizations.
Career and university advising is provided as part of the Student Support and Success Services. The comprehensive guidance program includes counseling and career/university advising. Learning Support and English Language Learning are available to support students' academic and language development, and the Student Support Team includes counselors and special education specialists.
The Athletics program develops physical well-being, commitment, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition; participation is encouraged for all students in Grades 1–12. Wellness is integrated into the after-school program, promoting physical and mental health as part of a holistic approach to student wellbeing.
Escola Americana de Campinas (EAC) is an independent, not-for-profit, co-educational international school on a 15-acre campus in Campinas, Brazil, about one hour from São Paulo. The school serves around 850 students aged 2 to 19 and is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The curriculum combines Montessori foundations in Preschool with a standards-based American and Brazilian program in Grades 1–12, and offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme in Grades 1–5 and the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11–12. It operates as a dual-language environment (English/Portuguese) with Portuguese language instruction for 4- and 5-year-olds as part of the Brazilian program. The campus emphasizes STEAM across the curriculum; a 1:7 student-to-teacher ratio; and a developing Arts Center featuring a 500+ seat theater.
