History

Founded in 1956, EAC is an accredited, not-for-profit, co-educational international school on a 15-acre campus in Campinas, Brazil, about 1 hour from São Paulo. It is accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. The school serves about 850 students aged 2 to 19, representing more than 20 nationalities, and maintains a 1:7 student-to-teacher ratio. The Arts Center is in progress as part of the school's ongoing development.

Community

There are 100+ parent and alumni volunteers who are deeply connected to EAC. Alumni participate in numerous events throughout the year and have a dedicated alumni area. Signature events at EAC include International Day, Welcome Back EAC & Alumni Day, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. International Day is an inclusive, multicultural celebration featuring performances and cultural booths.

Parent-Teacher Association

There is a robust parent and alumni volunteer network of 100+ members. The Alumni program runs events throughout the year and maintains a dedicated alumni area. Alumni can contact EAC to arrange visits. Signature events include International Day, Welcome Back EAC & Alumni Day, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Escola Americana de Campinas (EAC) is an independent, not-for-profit, co-educational international school on a 15-acre campus in Campinas, Brazil, about one hour from São Paulo. The school serves around 850 students aged 2 to 19 and is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). The curriculum combines Montessori foundations in Preschool with a standards-based American and Brazilian program in Grades 1–12, and offers the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme in Grades 1–5 and the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11–12. It operates as a dual-language environment (English/Portuguese) with Portuguese language instruction for 4- and 5-year-olds as part of the Brazilian program. The campus emphasizes STEAM across the curriculum; a 1:7 student-to-teacher ratio; and a developing Arts Center featuring a 500+ seat theater. After-school activities include Athletics, Creative Arts, Academics, Technology, Wellness, and Global Citizenship, with more than 40 offerings.
