English is introduced through immersion, and students live the language in teachable moments. Learning happens during periods of English immersion, with part-time, semi-full-time, or full-time schedules available. Bilingual children develop more cognitive skills, think faster, and become more flexible in reasoning due to a broader language repertoire. Reading and writing develop across both languages through everyday interactions in English and Portuguese.
Music and theater spaces are part of the school's facilities. There is an art studio and a makerspace for creative projects, and the music room supports musical activities. Ballet is taught using Paula Castro's methodology, with end-of-year performances at Teatro Alfa. Circus lessons and other performing arts activities develop body expression, coordination, and confidence.
English is the main language of instruction, while Portuguese is the language most commonly used in student interactions. Our language policy supports bilingualism to promote cultural diversity and international mobility and emphasizes translanguaging and multilingual development. Languages are developed through everyday interactions, respecting each learner's linguistic repertoire and cultural heritage. The policy aligns with IB standards and practices.
Sports and activities are integral to Global Me's teaching culture. Students engage in swimming in a heated indoor pool, martial arts, ballet, ball sports, sand sports at Itaim, circus, and capoeira, which develop motor skills and social interaction. Mindfulness is practiced as part of the program, with MindKids providing training for students. Makerspace and Music and Theater provide additional creative outlets and opportunities for self-expression.
Global Me has partnerships with renowned professionals and companies. They include OEBi (Organization of Bilingual Schools), Innovamat, and MindKids, which support the school's educational offerings. Ciça Gorski contributed to campus design, and Terra Nova Paisagismo helped shape the grounds with numerous fruit trees, organic gardens, and green spaces that enrich learning.
Our team of teachers and assistants speak English fluently and use the language full-time, both in and out of class. MindKids mindfulness training is provided to faculty to apply mindfulness techniques in daily lessons. Innovamat partners support mathematics education by delivering research-based learning experiences that develop problem-solving, communication, and reasoning skills.
Health and Well-Being is a main pillar at Global Me. The school has its own kitchen staff at both locations, with monthly menus designed by a nutritionist and meals prepared in-house from fresh ingredients. Food rules include no white sugar and no ultra-processed foods, with daily access to fresh fruits and vegetables. Swimming lessons take place in a heated indoor pool, and mindfulness moments support focus and emotional balance, while nature spaces with parks, fruit trees, and an organic garden enrich outdoor learning.
