Bronte College was established in January 1991 by Dr. Ahsing Chia-Looi in Oakville's Bronte Village, with the campus housed in the Church of the Nazarene that was converted into classrooms, labs, a library, kitchen and activity area. It began with about 60 international students in homestay and offered a pre-University prep program leading to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). In 1996 Bronte moved to Mississauga, on a site formerly Sheridan College's Nursing Campus, expanding to include a full residence connected to academic facilities and growing to about 79 international students. The school began Summer Camp in July 1996 and international expansion followed with Hong Kong (1993), Beijing and Indonesia (1997), and Nigeria (2002); it later established roots in Shanghai (2005) and served as the GTA AP Testing Centre (2005). Bronte earned IB Continuum status in 2015 and celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2016.
Bronte College sits at 88 Bronte College Court in Mississauga, Ontario, in a diverse city where the campus combines academic facilities, dormitories and a cafeteria; boarding students live in a ten-story dorm attached to the school with 24-hour supervision. The Campus Life program provides evening activities and weekend excursions, and Campus Life staff lead after-school clubs and organize trips to attractions such as the CN Tower, Niagara Falls, and Canada's Wonderland. Student Dons provide floor-level support for safety and community, while on-campus health and wellness services include a full-time nurse. The school hosts cultural events, including Black History Month celebrations.
Bronte College is a private Canadian boarding school for Grades 9 to 12, welcoming students aged 14 to 18. The school delivers the Ontario Secondary School Diploma through an inquiry-based Canadian curriculum that also offers the International Baccalaureate (PYP, MYP, and DP) and Advanced Placement (AP) enrichment. Class sizes are small to support individualized attention and active participation. The campus operates year‑round and houses a residence connected to academic facilities, with amenities including a fitness room, gym, auditorium, library, outdoor field, courtyard, science and arts labs, and a full-service cafeteria; every classroom features SMART technology for interactive learning. The student body represents 33 countries, and ESL support with English immersion programs helps newcomers integrate. Bronte earned IB Continuum status in 2015 and offers campus-based AP courses. A Colour House system and participation in ROPSSAA foster community and leadership among students. Students benefit from a range of clubs and service activities that complement academics.
