London International Academy was founded in 2002 with just 20 students. The school has grown to serve over 350 students from more than 25 countries. It is located in London, Ontario, known as the Forest City, a university town in southwestern Ontario.
The school emphasises cultural diversity and intercultural understanding, with students from over 25 nationalities living and studying together. The residence programme is designed to build community among international students and help them adapt to Canadian culture.
London International Academy is a private secondary day and boarding school in London, Ontario, serving international and domestic students in Grades 9 through 12. The school is certified by the Ontario Ministry of Education to grant the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and is an authorized IB World School offering the two-year IB Diploma Programme. Students come from over 25 nationalities, and the school operates a STEP (Steps to English Proficiency) programme for English language learners. LIA has a 14:1 student-to-teacher ratio and places graduates at universities across Canada and internationally, including the University of Toronto, McGill, Waterloo, NYU, UCLA, UCL, and Stanford. On-campus residence and homestay accommodation are available for boarding students, with meal plans included.
