Language Provision

Mulgrave teaches Mandarin and French as second languages within its IB programmes. All preschool students are introduced to Mandarin; Starting in Kindergarten, students may choose French at beginner level or continue with Mandarin A or Mandarin B, with both A and B offered at every grade level from K to 12. Language learning is a required component of the IB programmes. In Grade 10, students can continue with Mandarin or French or embark on introductory Spanish.

Bilingual Teaching

Mandarin and French are language options within Mulgrave's IB programmes. The Mandarin pathway is dual-stream: Mandarin A for students who speak Mandarin at home and Mandarin B for language learners. Mandarin A fosters true bilingual proficiency, while Mandarin B includes Regular and Extended levels for language learners. In Grade 10, students can continue with Mandarin or French or embark on introductory Spanish; Spanish Ab Initio (SL only) and Spanish SL (Online) are offered.

Mulgrave School is a private day school in Canada offering the International Baccalaureate continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) and Canadian Curriculum. The school serves ages 3 to 18, with Early Years (PK3–K), Junior School (1–5), Middle School (6–9), and Senior School (10–12). DP offers English, Chinese, Persian*, and French*. Mulgrave emphasizes inquiry-based, student-centred learning that develops critical thinking, global understanding, and communication. Facilities cover more than 22,000 square metres of space, with libraries, a performance theatre and a black box studio, multiple gyms, a climbing centre, a turf field, specialist art and design studios, science laboratories, a film studio, and a cafeteria. Outdoor spaces include a nature trail and forested areas; on-site and off-site venues support outdoor education through the Squamish Outdoor Leadership & Education Centre (SOLE) with climbing, a pool and dorms. Co-curriculars span STEM, arts, languages, debate, and service, with CIS and CAIS accreditation reacquired in 2021.
