Facilities Overview

Southpointe Academy is expanding its campus behind the existing school to enrich curricular and co-curricular offerings. The expansion will feature 26 new classrooms, science labs, art, multi-media and music studios, collaboration hubs, a fitness centre, and a double gymnasium, with over 70,000 square feet of academic space and the capacity to accommodate up to 850 students. The new building will be connected to the current campus by a sky bridge. The current campus opened in January 2012 and continues to support IB learning. The Hodgins Library provides thousands of print and digital materials, and the Dining Hall on the fourth floor offers meals for Kindergarten to Grade 12 with views over Boundary Bay.

Sports Facilities

The school makes full use of premier facilities including the Jackson Carson Gymnasium, a weight room, soccer fields, and track and field areas. The expansion includes a second gymnasium and a new weight room outfitted with Rogue equipment to support enhanced athletic training. Southpointe teams compete in multiple leagues and provincial events, with athletics offered for Grades 3–12 as part of Titan Athletics.

Academic Facilities

Academic spaces support the IB Continuum from Kindergarten through Grade 12. The expansion will add science labs, art studios, multi-media and music studios, and collaboration hubs, increasing the size of the academic footprint to over 70,000 square feet and capacity for 850 students. The Hodgins Library provides thousands of print and digital materials and serves as a hub for classroom research and independent study. The current campus, which opened in January 2012, accommodates space and resources that foster inquiry-based and interdisciplinary learning.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Experiential & Outdoor Education extends learning beyond the classroom with programs like Project Discover (camping, hiking, canoeing, ecological and marine studies) for Grades 4–12, and the Duke of Edinburgh Award offering community service, skills, fitness and adventure goals. Students engage in global adventures through Southpointe's Programme of Global Engagement and Service Learning, building intercultural understanding. Leadership opportunities are provided by Leadership Councils and Island Teams, and IB culminates projects encourage real-world action. Titan Athletics encompasses over 55 teams across Fall, Winter, Spring and Year Round seasons, and a range of clubs and co-curricular activities support leadership, communication and collaboration across grades.
