Robotics uses fully-equipped labs where students team up to design, build, and innovate. Students create competition-level machines and participate in events around the city and at St. George's. The Montreal round of the World Scholar's Cup, an international academic competition, is coordinated by St. George's.
The Jaclyn Linetsky Performing Arts Program plays an important role in school life, with more than a third of the student body becoming involved in a production during High School. The St. George's Glee Club, 'G Major', has performed sold-out shows around Montreal since 2009 and holds multiple Show Choir Canada Championship titles.
Elementary School provides a bilingual environment with instruction in English and French. New French language learners from Grades 1-6 receive language support in small groups and in one-on-one settings. High School offers a four-level French language program to develop second-language competency, and in Grades 7 and 8 Geography and History are taught in French. International students receive language support, and the St. George's Homestay Program provides host families to help immersion.
Elementary features Junior Robotics, Glee Club, Photography Club, and Farm to Table, with Athletics fostering teamwork and commitment. Glee Club and Robotics continue into High School, and Photography Club provides photo workshops alongside creative projects. Farm to Table engages students in growing, harvesting, and creating recipes from the school gardens, and Community Learning connects classroom learning with the wider world.
The Community Learning Program fosters meaningful community-based experiences; from Grade 7 to Grade 10, students commit to a cause or organization and complete volunteer hours, connecting experiences to contemporary issues and developing leadership skills.
Elementary students have leadership opportunities through the Student Leadership Team and a developing leadership structure. The High School emphasizes leadership through the Student Experience and related initiatives, with staff experience in developing leadership programs, service opportunities, community engagement, and wellness initiatives.
Athletics offers competitive and recreational sports, including basketball, soccer, golf, hockey, futsal, and tennis. Outdoor Education provides rock climbing, white-water rafting, fall and winter camping, and winter sports to build resilience. The Green Team advances the sustainability agenda by promoting eco-friendly practices like walking, biking, or bussing to school.
St. George's School of Montreal is an independent, co-educational day school with a family boarding option for international students, delivering the Canadian Curriculum across two campuses. The elementary campus is at 3685 The Boulevard, Westmount, and the high school campus at 3100 The Boulevard, Montreal, reflecting a history dating to 1930. The Grade 12 Pre-University program leads to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) through eight credits earned over two terms, with three curricular pathways—Science, Commerce, and Humanities. The Science pathway includes Advanced Biology, Advanced Chemistry, Calculus, and Advanced Physics; Humanities covers Canadian and International Law and World History; Commerce includes Economics, Ethics, and related courses.
