St. George's School of Montreal was founded in 1930 by a group of forward-thinking parents unsatisfied with the quality of education available to their children. The original building was located at the corner of Clarke Avenue and The Boulevard. By 1946 the school had grown to more than 80 students and moved to rambling, comfortable residential buildings at the corner of Ramezay Avenue and The Boulevard. The 25th anniversary in 1955 was celebrated with a sketch of the dream school, and two years later the present-day High School building at 3100 The Boulevard was completed. In 1971 St. George's acquired the former St. George Snowshoe and Curling Club at 3685 The Boulevard, renovated to become the Elementary School, and in 1993 updated the Elementary School with new computer labs and expanded library facilities.
St. George's maintains a bilingual environment with English and French instruction in the Elementary School and a strong French program in the High School. Fall Fest on the Elementary campus featured music, storytelling, STEAM activities, and a dragon-inspired collaborative art piece, with a Halloween Costume Swap. Kindergarten students met Officer Anthony for Halloween safety education. The community also hosts international exchanges, welcoming Dominican Republic students and attending the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal Trick or Treat concert.
The Parent Activities Committee (PAC) is the parent volunteer body that hosts many events throughout the school year, including Teacher Appreciation, Read & Recycle, Halloween Fest, and more. All St. George's parents are automatically members of PAC and can help enhance school spirit by volunteering with the committee. St. George's has seven School and Board Committees: Advancement, Education, Finance, Governance, Marketing, Nominating & Review, and PAC. Ambassadorship (Parent2Parent), Social Impact Program, and Expertise to Share provide ways to contribute. Joelle Krasny serves on the Board of Directors as a member and is the Chairperson of the Parent Activities Committee (PAC).
St. George's School of Montreal is an independent, co-educational day school with a family boarding option for international students, delivering the Canadian Curriculum across two campuses. The elementary campus is at 3685 The Boulevard, Westmount, and the high school campus at 3100 The Boulevard, Montreal, reflecting a history dating to 1930. The Grade 12 Pre-University program leads to the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) through eight credits earned over two terms, with three curricular pathways—Science, Commerce, and Humanities. The Science pathway includes Advanced Biology, Advanced Chemistry, Calculus, and Advanced Physics; Humanities covers Canadian and International Law and World History; Commerce includes Economics, Ethics, and related courses. The program emphasizes inquiry-based, experiential learning and university-focused guidance to support post-secondary plans. Facilities include state-of-the-art computer labs and fully equipped robotics labs, plus the Jaclyn Linetsky Performing Arts Program and the Glee Club. Language support and a dedicated homestay program assist international students.
