Per-term / instalment and example payment breakdowns

Billing schedule and payment terms

Curriculum

St. Jude's Academy offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum for JK–12. Primary Years Programme (PYP) covers JK to Grade 6; Middle Years Programme (MYP) covers Grades 7 to 10; Diploma Programme (DP) covers Grades 11–12. The PYP uses a transdisciplinary, inquiry-based curriculum with specialist-led instruction in French, Music, Art, Drama and Physical Education. The MYP continues IB learning with core and specialist teachers and includes a dedicated Media Arts class and a focus on developing learning skills such as accountability, organization, self-regulation and collaboration. The Diploma Programme has six subject groups and three core elements—Theory of Knowledge (TOK), the Extended Essay (EE) and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS)—with courses taught over two years. Graduates receive the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) and many proceed to universities worldwide.

Exam Results

A total of 47 graduates received the Ontario Secondary School Diploma. They have been accepted to Canadian and international universities and programs, including University of Toronto (St. George) – Rotman Commerce; University of Ottawa – Health Sciences; McMaster University – Mathematics and Statistics; University of Waterloo – Biotechnology/CPA; York University – Commerce; and UNSW Sydney and The University of Sydney.

Higher Education Progression

Graduates attend universities across Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia. Canadian destinations include University of Toronto, McMaster University, University of Ottawa, York University, Ryerson University, Western University and the University of British Columbia. International destinations include UNSW Sydney and The University of Sydney in Australia; in the United States: Arizona State University, UIUC, UCSC and UC Davis; and in the United Kingdom, universities such as Manchester, Exeter, Durham, Leeds and Bristol.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Guidance counselors manage student assessments, class placements, behavioural issues, academic guidance and university preparation. The school provides two guidance staff to support students in their journey at SJA and beyond. The House System (Kappa, Zeta and Theta) fosters community, inclusion and mutual respect across JK–12.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

Learning support is available to assist students with academic or behavioural needs.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

Instruction is primarily in English. English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are available for international students who require it. Two International Registration Packages exist: English-speaking international students; International + ESL for students who require ESL.

Mental Wellbeing

Guidance counselors support student wellbeing, including assessments, class placements, behavioural issues, academic guidance and university preparation. The school also maintains a multicultural, inclusive environment that values inclusion and mutual respect, supporting social-emotional development.

Admissions

Admissions

Two-step admissions: a personalized virtual information session provides an overview of the IB Programme and Student Life, followed by a campus tour where families can see classrooms in action and meet teachers. For Grades 1-8, admission may require an assessment in reading, writing and math based on the two most recent final report cards; Grades 9-12 use report cards, transcripts and teacher references to determine fit. Upper School references include one English, Science or Social Studies reference and one Math reference. After the review, admission decisions are based on report cards, academic potential, extracurricular achievements, character and overall suitability. Learning support is available and the Guidance Counsellor continues to assess student cases as needed. Registration Package is completed electronically and is available by grade on the Tuition & Fees page; International Registration Packages include English-speaking international students and International + ESL for students who require English classes (ESL). For international students, a 50% tuition deposit by wire transfer is required to receive the official Acceptance Letter to apply for the Student Visa, and the full tuition payment is due 10 days after obtaining the Student Visa.
