History

University School was founded in 1906 by Capt. R.V. Harvey, Rev. W.W. Bolton, and J.C. Barnacle. St. Michael's School was founded in 1910 by K.C. Symons. The two schools merged in 1971 to form St. Michaels University School (SMUS). SMUS became the first school in Canada to offer Advanced Placement in 1978.
