Uniform is mandatory for all students during class and upon leaving the school. Preschool uses a delantal/cotona with the school's model and an institutional bag; grades 1–4 wear the traditional buzo with a gray/white or blue plaid smock option and a gray/red reflective-parka; grades 5–12 wear gender-specific uniforms (female: skirt or official pants with a red sweater, white pique polo, gray socks or tights, and a gray/red reflective-parka; male: gray pants with a red sweater and white pique polo, plus the gray/red reflective-parka). A sports uniform is worn for physical education. Uniforms must be labeled with the student's name; non-official garments are confiscated; there are accommodations for transgender, pregnant, and migrant students with appropriate approvals.

Instituto Alemán Puerto Montt offers education from early childhood through upper secondary with an International Baccalaureate program. The school delivers the IB PYP, MYP and DP, organizing the Diploma Programme around Theory of Knowledge, the Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity and Service, in six subject groups: Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics and Arts. Students may elect to study an additional Higher Level subject in Sciences, Individuals and Societies, or languages instead of an Arts subject, with up to four HL courses and the remainder at Standard Level. SL courses are 150 hours and HL courses 240 hours. The campus Bernardo Phillippi 350 in Puerto Montt teaches in Spanish and German and has been an IB World School since 2018.
